Maybe he's not the biggest flop, but this was supposed to be his break-out year, playing on the top line, no longer behind Malkin and Crosby on the depth chart, making $6 million a year for 10 years starting next season.
And he's on pace for a 52 points in an 82-game season. Third highest amount of ice time per forwards and his minus-10 is the worst on the team.
Not a good year to be a Jordan Staal owner.
