    Default Cam Fowler - WTF?

picked the kid off the WW a few days ago (drop Muzzin) thinking he is keeper material, but 22GP and only 4 Assists? he does get some PP time as well, but what the hell? i have watched a few ANA games, but not enough to make a good call on the kid.

Does he desreve a spot here (listed as i see them ranked)?:

lots of potential but for whatever reason he has regressed from his rookie season...I wouldn't keep him over your other options:

    OEL
    Enstrom
    Schultz
    Carlson
    Fowler
    12 team, H2H, salary cap
    1 pt/G or A, 2 pts/W, 1 pt/OTL, 1 pt/SO

    Forward: B. Point, M. Necas, A. Debrincat, T. Zegras, J. Bratt, L. Raymond
    Defense: J. Morrissey, A. DeAngelo, S. Gostisbehere, D. Doughty
    Goalie: T. Demko, E. Merzlikins
    Bench: M. Rossi, C. Glass, M. Maccelli, M. Dumba, K. Shattenkirk, F. Andersen
Prospects of Note: L. Stankoven, J. Lekkerimaki, D. Yurov, B. Clarke

He has 2 points in his last 3 games.

I wouldn't be so fast to dismiss him. He is going to be a mainstay on the Ducks PP with Getzlaf and Perry.

SeaDawg is correct in that Enstrom and OEL are fare better options right now, but Fowler is a lot closer to Carlson and Schultz than you might think. I believe he is a far better option than Muzzin.

You have to put Fowler's season in context.

1- He missed 8 games with a concussion after getting hit form behind. He will have to get his timing back.
2 - Souray was here to help mentor him and play the #1 role until he is ready. Beauchemin has had an exceptional year, which has reduced Fowler's time.
3 - Boudreau. Not only has he done wonders for this team but he can develop Fowler like he developed Green. An offensive threat from the back end that can run the PP and jump into the rush as a 4th F.

Fowler is a true talent that will have every opportunity to be the #1D of the future. Now that Getzlaf and Perry are locked up long term, his future is a lot brighter. Just be patient and his ascension will happen.

maybe I'm misunderstanding...I think you made an excellent decision grabbing Fowler over Muzzin, and Fowler isn't all that far behind Carlson and Schultz, but I do rank Fowler last in your list of current dmen

i think i muddied the water a bit in my original post, Fowler will be a keeper, but i guess i was looking for confirmation that he does fit in with my list of keeper d-men, and not out of place with what i think i have going on with my core of young "stud" d-men.

this and the confirmation that i didnt blow it by dropping a seemingly hot Muzzin for a seemingly cold Fowler.

intresting that Carlson lands above Fowler in your listing though Dawg?

I'm as big a Carlson fan as you will find...I do like Fowler too, though

In all honesty, I see them as somewhat comparable

this was my thought s of him as well and was a little shocked when i saw him hanging on the WW, but when i saw his totals for the year i got a little freaked out, which was probalbly landed him there in the first place, and was worried he had regressed similar to EJ...

so this being said, can i reasonably sum this up by saying he is a victim of circumstance with the career year of Beauchmin and the execllent play of Souray that has lead to his low point totals for this year?

This is how I would rank them as well. He still has potential and rookies often hit sophmore slumps, so give him antoher year or two. But ya, all the others should be ranked above him.

as much as i dont know much about Fowler, Wiercioch is not in the same catagory, although it may get a bit closer with time.
