    Question Eberle or Duchene

I have been searching for a left winger to hold onto as a keeper. I made a deal to pick up Seguin for a rw. Do I try and move Eberle rw for Duchene c/lw or is Ryan lw/rw my lw keeper I have been looking for?

I was thinking about this myself, except whether to hold onto Duchene because of his LW, or whether it will be lost in the foreseeable future, since he plays C now.

Curious to see what people think.

I have heard that he isn't playing LW at all and will probably lose the spot.

As a Duchene owner, I am thinking about moving for a RW since I have a glut of centers (Tavares, Backstrom, Getzlaf, Ribiero with Bjugstad and TT on the way).

Agreed...I don't believe Duchy has played any position other than C for the bulk of last season and all this season. He will eventually lose the winger eligibility...or maybe not...considering Yahoo still has RW eligibility for Buff who hasn't played forward in over 3 seasons If memory serves.

    Sigh.

Duchene is a Centre, so I wouldn't acquire him hoping he holds onto the LW spot.

That said, even as a Centre, I like Duchene more than Eberle. However, I wouldn't drop Ryan, so if acquiring Duchene means you drop Ryan, I wouldn't make that move.

Eberle and Ryan > Duchene and ???

Looking at this a bit more...it really doesn't make sense to me.

Right now your 6 keepers are:

    C: Backstrom, H.Sedin
    RW: Eberle
    LW: Ryan
    D: Letang
G: Schneider or Luongo (depends which one remains the Vancouver starter...I assume one will be dealt soon)

If you make the deal, and Duchene becomes a full-time Centre, you have no RW and too many Centres.

interesting that you would keep Eberle over Seguin (not sure which way to here, had been leaning towards Seguin).

Any chance you could offer Eberle + Ryan for Taylor Hall or Zach Parise?
Those would be two LWs you might consider.

it is not easy choosing between Eberle and Seguin, so if you can flip either of them (along with something else, like Ryan) to land an upgrade at LW, I'd strongly consider that.

    Then, your keepers would be:

    C: Backstrom, H.Sedin
RW: Eberle or Seguin (keep the one you don't deal)
LW: new LWer acquired (e.g., Parise or Hall, like Pengwin suggests)
    D: Letang
    G: Schneider or Luongo

    Cool

Pengwin7 always appreciate your advice and I do work with it.
Appeciate the comments as well SeaDawg.
If I could only figure out how to give rep I would to both of you. cheers
I have been working the trades lines very hard trying to land a top LW.
I have also been working on trying to get a Giroux, Stamkos, Malkin for centre.
Unfortuntely some G/M's just never respond no matter how you approach it.
