    Default My keepers and Eberle

    Hi,
Still soon to talk keepers, but with trade deadline approaching, I have to take a look at what's coming for my team.
I'm in 1st right now in the league in my sig but with 2nd to 4th within 20 points from me.
Stamkos, Malkin, Neal and Price are sure keepers for me. No intention to trade any of these four.
    After that, I don't know. That's why I'm asking.
Yandle? Markov? Parenteau? Elias? Huberdeau? Koivu?
Also, what do you think of Eberle? He's not having the season we were waiting for...
I think his owner would listen to reasonable offers.
I would like to improve my keepers, but I don't want to cut my chances to win this year!
Would an offer of Huberdeau + Selanne be enough to make him listen?
Is Huberdeau + to much for Eberle?
He's not in contention for the title, but he battles for a playoff spot.
What would you willing to pay from my team to get Eberle?
What would you ask from my team to part with Eberle?
    Thanks guy. Rep to you.

Do most team keep D in your league? I would be keeping Yandle, out of your defense.

He's probably going to not want any of your defence. The offer of Huberdeau + Selanne should be enought acquire Eberle but I think in the short term, that might end up weakening your team instead.

See if he would go for Wheeler + Selanne + Atkinson for Eberle. Realistically, a fair offer would be Huberdeau straight up for Eberle but that would be a lateral move for you.

I'm with you on Yandle. Probably the D I would keep.
    Still need a 6th keeper. I want a forward. Keeping a G and a D, 4 forwards wouldn't be too much...

Huberdeau vs Eberle is a lateral move?
Do you see Huberdeau posting near ppg soon (next year)?
If Huberdeau = Eberle, should I keep him as my 6th keeper and let down the trade and the + part?

you are chasing after one of his likely keepers i honestly dont see how that gets accomplished unless you are willing to give him 2 keepers in return or a keeper and very high draft pick

any trade where he is convinced that he is getting enough to make the playoffs and be competitive this season likely dooms your season so i just dont see that as a viable option

I see Eberle as a really good under-rated player who is going to get choked in EDM cause there's too many fish and not enough fish bowl. I see Huberdeau as a soon to be big fish with a bunch of little fish following him around. There's nothing wrong with going after Eberle especially long term, but because I think Huberdeau will eventually be just as good if not better some day, my objective would be have Eberle and Huberdeau.

In points only league, I'm not too hot on keeping defenceman when the drop off from an good defence like Yandle to lessor PP defenceman might only be 10-15pts. If Huberdeau and Eberle are both 85 pt players on your roster, the impact is a bit greater. Thus my BS offer to steal Eberle without sacrificing Huberdeau.

If you can trade for Eberle, without losing Huberdeau I like it.But with your current keepers, I think you can take a chance on keeping Huberdeau, and even if his production isn't as good as Eberle's for next season, he's still probably better for the years after. If you can trade for Eberle without losing Huberdeau, they would both be keepers for me, and I would keep the five forwards and Price.

Huberdeau for Eberle is a fair trade though, and I feel like Eberle should out point Huberdeau for this point til the end of the season, and I feel like Eberle has a very good chance of producing at a higher rate next season. Eberle is a safer play in my mind, but again with the keeper you already have I think it might be better to take a small chance with Huberdeau.

    I like both your reasoning.
I would prefer to keep Price and 5 F.
So, I could offer him Yandle (or any D on my team) and a lesser forward like Berglund or Little for his Eberle and see if he bites.
Do you think I'm on something?...

gotta be honest with you i dont see this guy trading eberle given this roster

maybe ask if eberle is available before killing yourself trying to find the right offer

    Good advice 316!
    I went and asked.
His demands are way too high for me. No need to counter.
I'm down to my original question: my keepers.
    Malkin, Stamkos, Neal and Price.
Yandle at D. But to be honest, I'm a big Markov fan and this year, I'm really happy with his stats. Could be tempting...
    That leaves one spot.
    Concensus on Huberdeau?
In a keep 6, with Malkin and Stamkos, I won't lie to you. I want to win EACH year.

i think it might be a bit early to be keeping huberdeau given the limited number of keepers to be honest

i would probably keep parenteau out of the players listed

also how many teams generally keep defensemen in your league
