He'll certainly get some spot starts... if Ellis hurt, could get a lot.

The thing is, at the very least we'll be able to see what he's got. If he puts up a good showing in the big game, well, things open up for him in the future quickly.

I have him in my keeper league - tentatively. In reality it's probably low probability that he becomes a regular starter any year soon.... but if dominos fell the right way and he got the chance, he could be gold.

IMO he has #1 talent and had .931 sv% in 7 NHL games last year and .921 AHL this yr. No slouch. As always, it's all about opportunity.

Do you guys think he has more value than Scrivens in a non-keeper H2H? Team in sig.

I dropped Elliot for him because TBH i am done with that guy. even if he turns it around i've had it. ALWAYS hated the guy but decided to grab him after last year and this is what I get. heres hoping that Peters gets through this 5 on 3 and gets more opportunities. I have no idea how much they will use him or how Ellis has been playing but Peters looks damn good right now

LOL right as i type that he lets one in. I should be happy because I have Vanek, Miller and Ehrhoff but if Peters got a shot to end the year I would be unstoppable. 6-0 right now going on 7

I'll say this, unless Dan Ellis was extremely sick and was really unable to play tonight, it was a really bad move by him to pull himself out of tonight's contest. The guy was so desperate to get back into the league that he did tryout contracts. The door opens up with Ward suffering a serious injury and Peters just walked right through it.

Again, if Ellis was really sick then it's just unlucky timing for him, and I understand it was just one game...but Peters really impressed tonight and if I were Ellis I'm feeling a lot worse now.

Dropping Ellis for Peters is premature...right?

I wouldn't do that. Ellis should be their starter unless something happens or Peters gets another opportunity and shines. I took a stab at him cause I have an easy win but if I didn't I wouldn't. He looked really good though. Also I haven't seen Ellis play any games but apparently he's been great as well. Anyone been watching Carolina have any thoughts?

WHat about dropping Joey MacDonald from the flames for him? I'm thinking about it now, might make sense for me. I could drop Hiller but think Mac would be the guy to drop.

    Just swapping backups... too soon?

I'd drop MacDonald for Peters without giving it another thought...even in a league with limited waiver moves.
