    Default Del Zotto

Just wondering what the deal is with Del Zotto. Is he still receiving an abundance of PP TOI or is Tortorella tossing him in the doghouse?

Guy in my one-year league (sorry, posted here for more traffic) just dropped him and I have #3 waiver priority with a decent chance of grabbing him if I want him (#1 has better D than Del Z & #2 was the one who dropped him). My D is in shambles with Green/Wideman/Visnovsky/Empty D-Slot. Would be a good way of bumping up my D a bit without sacrificing one of my good forwards.

Hoping lucifer also chimes in here as I know he watches a lot of Rangers hockey.

    Thanks.

I've been watching MDZ pretty closely as I own him myself.

He was in Tort's doghouse for a couple of weeks (as is customary every year - MDZ seems to be the whipping boy)... but his play has improved over the past few games and he's back to being #1 on the PP in the last 3 games.

He has gone hot and cold this season, but given the weaknesses of your team I would use up the waiver on him given the shortened season. I don't think it makes sense to sit too long on high waiver positions this season... the marginal benefit you get for waiting diminishes pretty quickly.

If you pick him up, your defense will look almost exactly the same as mine haha... (except I just dumped Green).

Del Zotto's PP time last night against the Sabres was 5:24...the most PP time for any Ranger last night.
The more they win, the better the chance MDZ keeps getting those minutes.

There's not really any other options NYR has in running their PP...
Staal is a stay-at-home D through and through.
Girardi is the grindier, more shot-blocking version of Staal.
McDonaugh is solid and has the potential to become elite but not this season.
