Probably...well not so much clearing room 'expecting' a player to come in..but probably in case they are able to acquire someone at the deadline or something. Gagne is making $3.5M this year and he has been a healthy scratch since last Sunday.

Maybe it was to save him so he doesn't get injured in game and damage his trade value, or maybe it was due to play but either way it was evident that LA really didn't need him.

The main thrust was towards the D/G issues of the Flyers but there was a subtle undertone of 'Gagne is still alive?' to provide contrast and body to the palette. Some people listen to melodies, some people listen to lyrics. I like to reach a broad audience so I provide both... kind of like the Bieber of hockey forum humour...
