He could miss time with a bone bruise though as they are usually as painful as a fracture. All depends if he is able to skate with it or not.

Bone bruise is better than an ankle fracture. I was afraid of 4-6 weeks of IR.

You are correct. He will be out for a while.
Girardi absorbed shots off his right foot and right hand Saturday, but he's checked out okay and it appears as though he will be fine for Tuesday's game against the Jets.
