Acquiring Rinne, offering Clarkson
League details: Roto with G/A/+-/PIM/SOG/PPP and W and GAA for goalies. Players can be kept for 3 years and then returned for a salary auction draft or extended for additional salary.
I'm trying to shore up my goalies cats as Fleury, Nabokov and Khudobin aren't cutting it so far. Here's the offer:
My Clarkson and Nabokov for his Rinne and unnamed forward, possibly Hansen or Korpikoski. Worth pursuing, or will I regret losing Clarky? He's been amazing so far, but Rinne is a top 3 goalie. Clarkson and Rinne are both on year 1 of their contracts, and I won't be able to keep Fleury after this year (last year on the contract)

Rinne over Clarkson. Rinne is a Top 3 goalie without doubt, Clarkson as good as he's been is not a Top 3 player. You are getting the best player in the deal, you win.
He's going to take a few days to ponder, but I suspect that even if it's Rinne alone for Clarkson and Nabokov, it'll be worth it. I'll see what he comes back with.

I wouldn't do this trade in a million years if I was the Rinne owner (but then again, I'm not the Rinne owner). Clarkson is the classic sell high candidate right now, and he wont be able to maintain this kind of goal scoring pace going forward - so right now is the ideal time to trade him and get a high return.
Clarkson for Rinne is too ambitious in my book, but the other owner may just bite if he's jumpy over short term trends.

Ok, the new deal is Rinne, Hansen and Boychuk for Nabokov, Clarkson and Carle. He'll get two upgrades and I'll get my starting goalie for the next 2.5 seasons. And you are correct Shawnee, I'm looking to capitalize on Clarkson's recent body of work. He's still a solid multi-cat guy even if he isn't scoring at a PPG pace though.

I've managed to get him to agree to an offer, just want to see what people think about it:
Rinne/Hansen/Korpikoski for Nabokov/Clarkson/Purcell/Baertschi
Clarkson and Purcell have had hot starts, and Baertschi may not do much this year in Calgary, though he's very talented. Hansen has a good +/- and contributes points as well. Korpikoski is basically a throw in.
Reasonable to do in order to keep Rinne for the next 3 years?

I talked him out of adding in Baertschi. Now I just have to hope that Rinne continues to thrive in Nashville and that Clarkson doesn't become the premier power forward in the league.
