Lots of talk centering something around Yandle for O'Reilly... seems to make to much sense for the Avs to actually pull it off, plus if it's out there than it means it probably won't happen.

With O'Reilly getting moved Stastny is staying put. Stastny, with his contract, doesn't have the value that O'Reilly does at the moment.

Some rumblings/rumors along the lines of Zibanejad + Wiercioch for O'Reilly....

[QUOTE=sensfan19;1085808]Yes but they still won't be as successful.

I will say that if Saskatoon ever got a NHL team they would have the most dedicated die hard fans in the league.

More like a close second to Winnipeg.

Would make some sense for both teams. Zibanejad and Landeskog would be a good duo in the future, and they are friends. Wiercioch has been a very solid passer so far and went to school in Denver, not that that means anything at all.

I'm a fan of both of those options.

    Shop, maybe?

It would take quite a bit of marketing, but I could see some of those international customers sticking around for abit to check out some NHL hockey.

And if one doesn't like that sort of thing.... one could always come up a little further north to partake in some world-class fishing ; )

If it was good enough for Gordie Howe (more on this another time) would it be good enough for you?

I apologize for going off-topic, but you asked.

For what it's worth, I could definitely see Pittsburgh dealing some of their fine D prospects for some offensive help.

Zibanejad + Wiercioch? I'd have a hard time passing up on that offer if I was Colorado.

Great chatter boys! I love it! I also like the possibliity of Yandle to Colorado - makes sense from a needs perspective as well as a cap perspective.

Absolutely, but I can't imagine team he wouldn't help!

How would that shake out with their lineup, Ev? I'm onlly really a boxscore follower of the Sens because I own two of them, but with Spezza and Turris emerging, where would O'Reily fit in? Turris or O'reily to the third line or would someone shift to wing? Just curious what you think.

was that ever actually seriously considered by folks in Saskatoon? Or the league? I recall hearing about it last year but didn't give it much thought. Its not a big city by any stretch (250k) but I don't disagree they'd have great fan support, at least for awhile. I think if the NHL goes small town though they'd try Halifax before Saskatoon

Yeah, and even with no cups Ottawa still has a better track record than Toronto over the same time period.

I agree Halifax would be a nice fit! But Saskatoon is the fastest-growing metropolitan area in Canada for the third year in a row. In January alone there was 1,900 job created there.

Halifax has the ship building contracts hmmmm...

Halifax or Saskatoon would be fine Toranto to Halifax it is!

Those shipbuilding contracts are BS, don't expect a bunch of population or financial growth for Halifax

Yeah, Ross the Boss hit the nail on the head.

We are seeing no growth here in Halifax as a result of the ship building contracts yet. The city can barely support our Mooseheads let alone an NHL franchise.

If the tickets were priced like the Panthers tickets, maybe it would work, but they wouldn't be. Incomes in Halifax are not high enough for people to shell out the kind of money they would want for tickets to an NHL game.
    Without me, it's only "aweso".
