    Default Pavelski, trade high candidate

Is Pavelski (and the rest of the sharks) trade high candidates?
What could you expect in return (normal roto stats league) in return for Pavelski right now.

I just dealt Pavelski for Perry in my league (one-year, not keeper though). I don't think that you might get that lucky, but I'd shoot for an underperforming RW towards the top tier and I've give it a shot...

Literally 10 minutes ago just saw a deal go through in one of my leagues where Pavelski was sent for Paranteau AND Loui Eriksson. WOW.

I think Pavelski is gonna be solid all year. Obviously, that top lineJ could not keep that pace all year. He is in a great situation in SJ and entering his prime.

If you can do a sell high, buy low situation with Pavelski. I'd do it in a heartbeat. Maybe package Pavelski + someone else up for someone like Perry or Giroux even.

I think you're NUTS if you trade Pavelski AND Ward for Eriksson, Dubnyk and Shattenkirk.

Ward is off to a slow start but hes still better than Dubnyk. Edmonton is still not even sold that Dubnyk is the guy for them. I think you get worse in both positions, but you gain Shattenkirk, who i don't think makes up for the loss of Pavelski.

Pavelski is a really good player and unless i'm getting someone like Giroux or David Backes in return, i'm not moving Pavelski. You would want to get a good all around performer with multi position elegibility in return, because pavelski i don't think will slow down that much.

    Pavelski is a solid player.
Last year, I predicted he could finish top 10 in scoring.
He's very, very, very good. Awesome hockey sense, winner at every level.

I kept him over Evander Kane & Dany Heatley & Blake Wheeler in my points-only keeper.

Somebody would probably have to offer me Eric Staal (in multi-cat) or a Sedin (in points-only) for me to click accept.

If somebody offered me Ovechkin for Pavelski in points-only... I'd probably decline.
That's how much I like Pavelski.

I like Pavelski, I think he's a great player. He's going to have a great season. That said, I don't think his value will ever be this high. I just traded him for a slumping Parise. No one can see the future, but for now, I'm really excited about that trade.

Then I guess me nabbing Pavelski recently for M. Richards and Weiss is a huge steal??

I agree with Pengwin here. Pavelski is a very solid player all around. He is definitely not like a Cheechoo/Setoguchi type player that needed great players around him to do well. Pavelski is a great player in his own right and is often one of the most consistently good players on the ice. He could play on any team and put up similar stats.

Just a FYI for those who don't watch the Sharks often.

That's a pretty bold statement... Would you predict the same if Jumbo Joe and Marleau were out of the equation? He's a great player on his own, I love the way he anticipates the game and find the openings for shots... I'm just not sure I would rank him along guys like Kovalchuk for example. Just curious to read what makes you think so highly of him.

He started the same way last season, at over a point per game for a dozen games or so, and then cooled off a bit. I certainly hope he can sustain his pace this year. Regarding the OP, if I'm contending, I want to keep him on my team this year. Already a quarter of the season gone, Pavelski has a great chance to ride the wave until the end and finish in the 40-45 points range imo.
    Points-only keeper league. 12 teams. Keep any 12 players. Dress 12F - 6D - 2G.

    Selfish BUMP of the day...
Some days, you just feel like giving yourself a pat-on-the-back.
Today... is one of those days.

NHL Scoring Leaders, season almost over:
    1. Sidney Crosby 102pts
    2. Ryan Getzlaf 84pts
    3. Phil Kessel 79pts
    4. Corey Perry 78pts
    4. Tyler Seguin 78pts
    4. Claude Giroux 78pts
    7. Joe Pavelski 75pts
    7. Joe Thornton 75pts
    9. Patrick Sharp 73pts
    9. Taylor Hall 73pts
    9. Nicklas Backstrom 73pts
    12. Alexander Ovechkin 72pts

[We'll just choose to disregard the part about accepting a Sedin for Pavelski.]
