Unbelievable that you turned down Perry for Vanek, especially in a keeper.

Vanek is flavour of the month... Perry has outscored Vanek in 3 of the last 4 seasons and tied him last season. Even IF Vanek outscores Perry this season, Perry would still come out ahead in this format given the SOG and PIMs.

    Talk about short memories.

Exactly. Perry over Vanek and it's not even close.

Vanek started last year hot too. He had 24 points in the first 19 games of the season. You think he finished the season with over 100 points like he was on pace for at that point? Guess again. He had 61 points when the season ended.

If you own Vanek, enjoy the ride while it lasts but I guarantee he'll fall back to earth. If you can move him for a guy like Perry now, you should do it.

Agreed. Perry was the best player in the deal and you're selling high on Vanek. I would re-initiate talks as soon as possible.

Vanek will slow down or get hurt while Perry will keep on trucking with upside.

plus, purcell is a damn serviceable option
Your putting Nash higher than Perry?

My, my, how quickly our perspective changes.

To the OP, take Perry. Vanek will disappoint before the season is over, have no doubt in that.

Once he starts cooling down I'm not sure you'll be able to get a better deal.

    Good luck anyway.

Someone should revive this thread when the real Vanek appears.

He'll certainly slow down quite a bit as the season goes on, the question is will Perry impress at all by year's end? Or even next year when Getzlaf might be gone? He's certainly off to a really slow start, much like last year, and with the entire team in shambles atm, i'm not sure if he'll rebound by this year or the next year either, in which case, I probably won't end up keeping him for next year (im only limited to 4 keepers), and so the trade may only become relevant for this season, which is making me think twice about trading away Vanek.

Capitalize while you can. The climate is perfect for this deal. Both guys have a long enough track record to know who they are. In any format, I would take Perry head and shoulders above Vanek.

Purcell is a better option than Dupuis, but not by a big enough margin to stop this deal from going down. This is a great opportunity to get an elite player who's struggling a little bit for a above average guy that's on absolute fire.

Pull the trigger and in a month from now, you'll be happy you did.

EDIT: I dont think Anaheim is in shambles at all, they're 6-1-1. The balanced scoring their getting is only gonna help the power line get better matchups on the ice. This line will be dominant before season's end.

I meant their precarious situation at the moment with Getzlaf becoming a free agent, constant rumors about a Ryan trade, plus Hiller's questionable start. Im not saying they can't win, just saying the future of the team as it stands has a huge question mark on it right now.
