I want your opinion about my team in sig. I really like my team and was really conifident last saturday, but after 6 days of hockey I am at 38 pts for 1st place and 27pts to the real cotender.

My keeper are not producing except Stlouis and Kharlson only 2pts from Lundy and Smith now he is injured and 0 pt from Ryan my 1st pick. Hope Smith will be back soon, my keeper start to produce and my goalie too, but don't know if he will be enough the gap is big and season short, it's tougher to regain pts.

What should I do starting thinking for next year upgrade keeper, draft pick and auction money I have already 4 good rookies who are free keeper next year in HUB, Tarasenko, Granlund and Schultz.

You already answer my question in your GREAT ARTICLE today THANK FOR IT : at #11. Don’t make panic moves or trades in your fantasy pool. This is even more important in a shortened season. With a smaller sample size, randomness and luck will both play larger roles in production and overall player/team success. Trust in your ability to evaluate talent, and don’t base anything on a one or two week sample size. I want a little more of your opinion about my team and league.

Thank in advance for your help.
Stand pat - you have a really good team. I haven't even made a single move in either of my leagues (may end up hurting me, we will see). Give it another 10 days and then come back to me!

Slow starts, as you said. I'd hold off on making moves right now on either of them (I am starting to sound like a broken record).

The question is, in a keeper league, with salary cap I am faced with the question of trading him while everyone is hot to trot. If I felt my team could compete this season, I would be holding on, but I have had 2 offers made to me in the last couple of days and would love your opinion.

    Offer #1:

    Marleau

    4

    Dubinsky
2014 1st round pick (Amateur draft)
    Brett Connolly

    Offer #2

    Marleau

    4

    Galchenyuk

Although the first offer seems more meaty, the point is Dubinsky would be a position fill, and not value to me going forward, and Connolly has to become an active roster player next season, and he has yet to assert himself at the NHL level.

Whereas Galchenyuk has 3 seasons before having to move to the active roster, and by all accounts will be MTL #1 center before that time.

    You opinion is always valued!

    Thanks Angus.

With Justin Faulk out with an upper body injury (whatever that means?) and Jake Gardiner looking a little rusty and being sent down, I'm thin at D. My team:
Eberle, Seguin, Jamie Benn, Huberdeau, Ennis, Stepan, Granlund, Kassian, Nyquist, OEL, Gardiner, Josi, Faulk, Voynov, Rask and Pavelec

I'm considering offering Grandlund for Brendan Smith. What are your thoughts on this? I like Subban, but I'm sure the price would be very high. Any other ideas that could help me at D while remaining young?

    Thanks,
    aMaK
I love Smith but that is an overpay. You have some stacked young talent there... I'd stand pat for now. No real sell high candidates there.

I'm not a fan - he looks like a different player now after the ankle injuries...

First off thanks for doing this! Now to my question (sorry for the length).

16 team, full keeper, head to head. Start 6F, 4D and a goalie, 7 on the bench and 10 in the minors. Scoring cats:

    G:5
    A:3
    PIM: 0.5
    +/-: 1
And other smaller points for things like SOG (0.3) hits, blocked shots, FOW, etc.
And defence get an extra 2 points for a goal or assist.

I have too many d-men and was offered:
Marleau + Colborne for my Phaneuf and 2013 1st (likely around 10th?) I countered with either a swap of 1st's or my 2nd and 3rd instead.

My other option is to drop Brodie for a guy like Dupuis.

    What do you think?
Not a Colborne fan.... and you are probably buying high on Marleau.

I like that second move a lot more.

Keep an eye on Kassian... due to slow down, but how much?

Also ... I would have to drop one of Brunner, Tarasenko, Yakupov for him which probably isn't the best of ideas eh? Reason I am considering it is that I could use the PIMs he provides... or are those PIMs going to dry up too.

    Team is in my signature.
Yes he can... if Kesler comes back. Burrows and Kesler are dynamite together. I'd add him.

    I'd drop Brunner for him.

Fantastic moves - adding quality over quantity. I like Granlund over Grigrenoko, JVR over MacArthur by a lot, and of course Markstrom over the rest.
