    Thanks for doing this again.

I'm looking to make a trade in my league. I just took over a team. Who would you prefer in a roto league. Cats are G, A, PPG, PPPTS, PIM, +- and a 1/2 point for SOG.

Its an auction style league where we are given 150$ to draft 7 forwards, 3 defenseman and 2 goalies. I am not in contention and I just traded away H. Sedin (39$) for Jamie Benn (21$). I would now like to trade Tavares (37$) for one of these guys.

Can you rank them since I'm not sure who I will be able to get.

    My top 3
    E. Kane (13)
    Skinner (16)
    Getzlaf (19)

    Kessler (10)
    Duchene (12)
    J. Staal (13)
    Tarasenko (10)
    Yakupov (11)
    J. Thornton (19)
    Marleau (7)
    Burrows (17)

The money I save on this will help me land a big name player in next year's draft. I know none of these guys are as good as Tavares but by doing this I free up money to spend on a big name player like Stamkos or drop brown and clowe and go after guys like Sharp. All players are kept for 3 years.

This is my team we keep 7

    Backstrom, Nicklas 20
    Benn, Jamie 21
    Tavares, John 37
    Brown, Dustin 9
    Clowe, Ryane 8
    Eberle, Jordan 21
    Kunitz, Chris 1
    Fowler, Cam 2
    Girardi, Dan 3
    Wideman, Dennis 2
    Bryzgalov, Ilya 8
    LaBarbera, Jason 1

    League in sig. Points only.

I’m in first, but not by much. My defence isn't the greatest. I know it’s early in the season, but I’m hoping to make a move for a top dman. For now, I’ve set my sights on Karlsson.

What would be a fair offer? The other guy was an expansion team two years ago, and has a young team. He’s probably a year or two away from competing.

I was thinking something like Ryan or Kane, Johnson or Fowler, plus a first rounder at the minimum. Does that sound fair? Should I be offering something like Hall and a first instead, or is that overpaying?

Keep in mind, I'll probably have to drop someone Kane and Ryan at the end of the season.

Writer of the weekly Top 10 column.

12-team Keeper pool, straight points for forwards & dmen. Goalies get: 2 points per win, 3 per shutout, 1 point per assist & 1 point per shootout loss.

    League champ in 2013, 2015, 2018, 2020 and 2022.

Top 8 forwards, 5 dmen and 2 goalies count.

We keep 15 players (any position) plus two rookies.

Forwards: Panarin, Ovechkin, Kopitar, Stamkos, Tuch, Rust, Marchessault, Pavelski, Miller, Bertuzzi, Stone, Kakko, Brown, Stankoven, Kovalenko
Defence: Hedman, Fox, Matheson, Thrun, Jiricek
Goalies: Kochetkov, Talbot, Vasilevskiy, Campbell, Schmid

Two questions, what do you expect out of Grabo/JVR with Lupul out, and Foligno/Dubi in general? Would you hit the waiver wire for any of:

Vermette, Glencross, Bouchard, Boyes, Hanzal, Atkinson, Backlund

    Thanks.

I'd dump Foligno for Atkinson. I expect both of the Leafs players you own to step up.

Good call - he's a great goaltender. I missed the boat on him.

That sounds fair, but you will probably have to overpay. If you would have to drop someone, perhaps beef the offer up a bit. I'd try for Ryan, Johnson, and a 1st, and negotiate up from there.

Very very strong league. I'm weak on D and specially with Spurgeon but it's very hard to make trades in this league but possible.

Witch players you think i have to trade to be more competitive this year?

    Thanks!!!

Thinking about making this offer with an eye towards a slight remodel this season. Guy is fighting for first and wants Kovalchuk.

    League #1 in signature:

Letang (or S. Weber), P. Bergeron, and a pick

    for

    Kovalchuk and Giordano

    Is this good enough value?

    Hey Angus,

League in sig. Finished first last year, think I have a shot again this year. Should I trade my Seguin and Strome for Ovechkin?

Question 2, if you can. How many pts for Sullivan this year? Is he worth me using one of my 2 UFA signings on him? Thanks

    Okay, my last questions:

Question #1: Which D will stand out most this year: Goligoski, Bieksa, Carlson, EJ, Carle, Souray?
Question #2: Would you add any of these guys over players currently on my team: Steen, Zajac, Roy, Filppula, Perron, Hodgson?

    Thanks again for doing this!!

    Thank Jeff for doing this.

I want your opinion about my team in sig. I really like my team and was really conifident last saturday, but after 6 days of hockey I am at 38 pts for 1st place and 27pts to the real cotender.

My keeper are not producing except Stlouis and Kharlson only 2pts from Lundy and Smith now he is injured and 0 pt from Ryan my 1st pick. Hope Smith will be back soon, my keeper start to produce and my goalie too, but don't know if he will be enough the gap is big and season short, it's tougher to regain pts.

What should I do starting thinking for next year upgrade keeper, draft pick and auction money I have already 4 good rookies who are free keeper next year in HUB, Tarasenko, Granlund and Schultz.

You already answer my question in your GREAT ARTICLE today THANK FOR IT : at #11. Don’t make panic moves or trades in your fantasy pool. This is even more important in a shortened season. With a smaller sample size, randomness and luck will both play larger roles in production and overall player/team success. Trust in your ability to evaluate talent, and don’t base anything on a one or two week sample size. I want a little more of your opinion about my team and league.

Thank in advance for your help.
