I'd say it's the Flyers who are struggling, not just Bryz. Leighton wouldn't do any better with how the team is playing in front of their goalie

I really doubt it... Not the way they're paying Bryz. Plus it's not all his fault. The team is playing like crap in front of him. Take a look at the Devils first two goals last night and you'll see that the defense hung him out to dry.

Bryz was actually solid in the first two games against Pens and Sabres.
And Michael Leighton won't be taking over anyone. Now Philly trading for Bobby Lou? That's a whole another topic.

I think Bryz has been solid all three games. The team just looks uninterested in playing. And keep in mind, this is training camp/exhibition for a lot of these guys still. One week of practise doesn't get you into game shape. I'd be patient with Bryz (I have him too). The Flyers have too much talent to suck all year.
Head to Head League: 1 point for G, 1 point for A. 2 for Goalie win, 3 for SO.
Start 6 guys every week. 3 O, 2 D and 1G. No substitutions once they are in (before the first game starts on Monday).
Protect 3 players every year in keeper.

D: Letang, Doughty, Karlsson, Grzelcyk, Faulk,
G: Bob, Shesterkin, Demko, Kahkonen
Bryz is more in danger if the team is winning and his stats suck (ie last year).

But where do you see Bryz finishing up this year? Even if the team starts to play better? What are the odds of Philly buying him out (The latest threat beyong landing Bobby Lou).
If he does get bought out...what are the chances of him saying "The hell with it...I'm taking my money from the USA and heading back to Russia to the KHL and make even more.
Guys loopy.
I have an offer on the table sending me Anderson for Bryz... I really need to know if it's time to cut him loose or not.
Depending on what happens with Mike Smith and potential contract demands... I could see Bryz go back to Phoenix for relatively cheap if he has another bad year. Smith costs 2 million right now but depending on his season that could go up to 5-6 million which I doubt Phoenix will pay. Going back to the devil they know seems logical IMO. I mean, not a lot of us had faith in the Smith experiment working out when he signed there and look how that turned out. Rags to riches.
Of course this all depends on Bryz being bought out in the first place.

I think you have to ask yourself if you think Ottawa is going to be a better team than Philly this year. It's possible that they will be. I think Philly will bounce back once they shake the cobwebs. I would personally not do that deal, but I have faith in Bryz.

Wouldnt they be less likely to make a change if they were winning.
every team has had the same amount of time to practice. Bryzgalov should be in game shape, he played in the khl. you cant afford long losing streaks in a 48 game season.
Leighton is not a bad goalie, he was 24-8-2 in 2009-10 season/playoffs.

It's very unlikely right now. Bryz has been pretty good considering how good the scoring chances coming at him are. The more plausible option is for Philly to make a move on D. I'm not saying Bryz is firmly entrenched as the starter for the next 5 years but Leighton's not a big threat at this point.

As a Bryzgalov owner I'm so frustrated by the whole situation. From what I've seen and heard it's definitely not all his fault, but this can't be good for his confidence, and I feel like he's going to be used as a scapegoat anyway.
if you come to philly as a goalie and dont expect to be used as a scapegoat you have been living under a rock
the flyers scored 2 goals in the 01-02 playoffs and chechmanek was blamed for them not advancing
he had a shutout a .936 sv% and a 1.85 gaa and he was still the villain
its always the goalies fault in philly
I'll give the guy above me credit, he brought up a good point. Pardon me for insulting Philly fans here, but they almost never have patience with their teams or players. Their defense wasn't great last year either and a lot of the bad goals he gave up were not solely his fault. Until Philly plays better on D, any suggestion that Bryzgalov is the problem this season needs to be tabled.
You can not look great as a goalie when the D in front of you is crap. Nobody can do that consistently.
