Truth is they do not blindly follow, it was just a myth we were all made to believe by a large corporation (Disney).
All very similar to the way the NHL has tried to convince hockey fans that everything they do is not all about money....... and then is pointless when some moronic GM overpays to keep his job or to help an agent. (see Zajac stupidity)
So in essence "Hockey Fans" are more appropriate than the aforementioned "Lemmings".

Agreed. But that's different than calling all those fans who rushed back to watch scrimmage games lemmings.
If the owners (via Bettman) had said "we are locking out the players because not enough fans are buying tickets." the lemming characterization would be more fitting.
