Yeah I think he is droppable if you have a reasonable replacement option. There is no indication that he will ever play again as far as I am concerned - he may and would be useful but that's pretty iffy when you are managing a team.
Hi all,
I'm in a 16 team keeper league where I feel I have a chance to make a slight push. Or at least I HAD a chance to make a push prior to Thomas taking a year off. I've been putting off this decision hoping he'd change his mind at the end of the lockout but it doesn't look like it.
So with that said is Thomas dropable in a keeper league? My team is below. Goalies get 10 points for a win with an additional 5 for a shutout plus smaller points for saves and minus' for goals against. To put things in perspective forwards get 5 for a goal and 3 for an assist and defence get 7 and 5. It's a head to head league and I just missed out on the playoffs last year in a tiebreaker.

Agree with Shoeless. He's riding off into the sunset. I'd drop him with a replacement of course.
Neely and Chiarelli mentioned today in this mornings team presser that Tim Thomas wants to play NEXT season. Where? Who knows? Will he? who knows. But that's the latest news.

Neely/Chiarelli presser in a tweet: AM54 good for opener, expect Hamilton to stick, Pandolfo could play in AHL, TT wants to play next season

#Bruins: Tim Thomas suspended in "non-adversarial" way. Per @ESPNJoeyMac: Thomas told Chiarelli via his agent he wants to play next season.
I believe he's droppable if there's a decent pickup available.
He's probably taking a year off to open up a Chick-fil-a franchise. He won't play in a BOS uni again I don't believe.

A lot happens between now and then. Will he play in Boston, I don't think he's welcome to. I do think he'll play 1-2 more years, backup role with someone.

Boston Bruins' GM Peter Chiarelli confirmed this morning that Tim Thomas will not be coming to camp or playing this year.
"We'll end up suspending him. He will be on our cap unless I trade him," said Chiarelli. However, he did mentionned that Thomas wants to play next season.
ONE YEAR -10 Team League - H2H - (G, A, +/-, PIM, PPP, Hits, SOG, PPP) - (W, SV%, GAA, SO)
C: Hall, Backstrom, Galchenyuk (C/LW)
RW: Perry, Iginla, Saad (LW/RW)
LW: Vanek (LW/RW), Lucic, Kane, Schwartz, Pearson
D: Keith, Krug, Goligoski, Hamilton, Trouba
G: Bishop, M. Smith, Pavelec
I also have Thomas in a keeper league and plan to drop him. Too flakey, too many variables - get rid of him.
I picked him up dropping Brian Boyle in a 10 team partial keep 12.
Weekly starts 2 G, already have Rask, Niemi, and Backstrom.
Figure if he comes back next year (hoping in Detroit) he could be an absolute steal.
So If you have a spare bench spot think its worth it. Can always drop him later.
