I also think Tarasenko compares more to Bobby Ryan in terms of skill than Dustin Brown... but I also have a huge man-crush on this kid.

EXACTLY. He simply has more skill than Dustin Brown does. Bobby Ryan is a very accurate comparison but Tarasenko is clearly faster. I think he really does have 80-85 point, superstar potential. For some reason, I think of James Neal whenever I think of Tarasenko, e.g. strong enough to be a PF but more skilled than that as well. My only concern, mostly a hunch, is that he might be prone to injuries because he will get his hands dirty.

Punkin looked awesome last night. His outside, inside deke and goal was shades of Krutov. Small, stocky, choppy skating and wicked release. Krutov is who he really reminds me of in terms of style.

I hope not. Even though he's a physical player, he seems to be a smart player. Hopefully he stays healthy. I think Neal is a good comparison as well in terms of skill or goal scoring ability.

His upside is 80-90 points IMO, he'll be fun to watch.

lol I'm not the perfect professionnal hockey scout and I dont want to go war against Big Ev but from what i've seen of Dustin Brown ( 48-58 pts player ) and only one game and few hightlights in KHL from Tarasenko, there is no way these 2 players can be compare.

Tarasenko will be a dynamic offensive foward with lots of points while Brown is a leader, a solid 2 way player. Brown is not there for offense like Tarasenko.

he made Quincey ( i think it was him both time) look like a bantam guy on both goals saturday.

for me in term of points Tarasenko > Brown ...starting next year i dont think it will be close.

anyway.... bring back this thread in 2 years !!!
    6 teams dynasty pool,points only,no pos. for F, Keep All, 12F, 6D, 2G count.....backup=6F, 4D, 2G, 4 roster moves( 2 at 30th game and 2 at NHL deadline)

    I call bullshit.

    Once again.

Tarasenko is impressive wherever he goes and hasn't shown the deficiencies that your supposed spidey senses detect.
