What scares me in all this is both Green and Macdonald always injured. Marleau never gets injured
What does your team look like? Would Marleau be a keeper for sure? Who are your other LWs? Do you have an early enough pick to replace the Shark?

How many teams? If you only carry 16 roster players, then injury prone guys might be less worrisome because the WW would be more stocked. If that's the case, McDonald isn't nearly as scary. He could easily take off and go PPG for the first 20-30, then you can replace him with a WW pickup and still come out ahead.

Your league is pretty D-heavy (6F-4D split). I'd think that makes Green even more valuable. I'm still taking that side until some other info convinces me otherwise.

I'm not sure why you would think that. He's only 35 and had 22 points in 25 games last season, so when playing he's still productive.

Top bar, click on 'USER CP', down the left hand side is 'Edit signature'. Be sure to include your entire league settings and roster. That way we'll have all the information for this and future questions.

I see this alot - I'm guilty of it myself. I think players are older than they really are and use that to devalue them. Biggest risk with Andy Mac is his propensity for injury.

Exactly. AMac is only two years older than Marleau. And AMac could very well be this lockouts "teemuselanne" meaning the time off does good for him.

I'd take the Green side here. I'm not a fan of him but he has the highest upside of these guys and if he gets back to the level he was he'll be by far the most valuable player of these. I'd take the risk with Green and AMac if the return is only Marleau and Visnovsky.

I see it this way due to the current labour situation. I think if the PA where to decertify, many players will be out of the NHL. Teams will go after free agents that have proven track records including injuries. Factor in that Mac is 35 and a BAB and St. Louis has a very deep prospect system, he could be on he bubble
    Points only, 26 team keeper league. keep 8 + 4 prospects. 2 LW,2 RW, 2C, 4 D and G. 1 point goal,1 point assist
Goalies. 2 points win, 1 for O/T or Shoot out loss, 3 for SO, 2 for assist, 10 for goal. Minus 1 for a loss
Draft 8 more through draft. Need to have 11 on main team, 9 on reserve. Once roster set, can add 1 injured reserve spot.

    Roster:
    LW JVR, Steen, Hagelin
    C Malkin, E. Staal, Nelson
    RW Okposo, Wheeler, Donskoi
    D Demers, Pulock, Savard, Vlasic
    G Holtby

prospects: Frost, Sprong, Andersson, Bear, Niku, Katchouk

I'm not sure about that, so will leave it there.

Thanks for adding a signature. You should include the number of teams as well.

With the number of D you need to start, I think there's an opportunity here to really set yourself ahead. Green is huge at that position when he's healthy (yes, it's a risk, but...)

Unless this is a really deep league - 16+ teams - I think your team is very weak. If that was the case, I'd be looking to strip down and seriously consolidate with good keepers/prospects.

This is a 30 team league and I finished 5th last year. My team is actually very strong compared to most. Yes my d is week. My only concern is the injury part to Green and Mac

In that case, I take back what I said. 30 team league? Great job putting the team together.
