Default Atlanta turned down Simmons for Olt swap

In an effort to get their hands on Justin Upton, the Rangers tried to trade Mike Olt for Andrelton Simmonds and flip him to Arizona for Upton.

Teams value prospects/players differently. If you recall, the Jays tried to get Gose from the Phillies in the Halladay deal but weren't able to do so and eventually settled on other prospects. Once Gose got moved to the Astros they were able to swing a deal moving Brett Wallace in a deal they couldn't swing with the Phillies.
