Savages had their lead closed to 4pts on Thursday morning (99pts v. 95pts) but re-opened the lead on a strong last night powered by Stephane Robidas hits & 10 PIM misconduct.

At this point, I'd make Savages a 85% likelihood to win the pool. His goaltending trio of Crawford/Fleury/Vokoun is 1st in Wins (15pts) and GAA (15pts) and not damaged significantly by being 3rd last in Saves (3pts). His only other weak category is +/-, where he is 3rd last (3pts).
Blades of Steel has the best chance to make a late charge. +9A (246/246/244/242 vs. 238) could jump him up 4pts. +7 PIM (499/495/495... 493) could jump him up 3pts. +2 wins (35/35/35... 34) could jump him up 3pts. Those 10pts would be enough to bridge the 7pt gap without needing help from other teams catching Savages.
All of the other teams will need a lot of help to bring Savages back to below 100pts.

I'd probably do a few league summaries when it's done.
I strategized and tracked this league like no other I've ever done.
Savages drafted the best player (Ovechkin), the best goalies (Crawford/MAF/Vokoun), a great mid-round pick (Voracek) and possibly the best waiver pick-up (Tlusty). He definitely deserves the win.
Being in second place right now and behind 9.5 points with 6 days to go, I am here to congratulate Savages on their victory. With 2 injuries in the final week (Kulikov and Horton) along with an insurmountable lead, I cede victory to the almighty savages. Was a great season everybody and hope that 2nd place gains entry to next season lol!!
With four divisions, I think Dobber only promotes the top team to the next level up for competition. And... I believe the rest of us may have to take a season off to allow for other NOOBs (that buy the guide) to gain entry to the Entry Leagues.
That said, we can always create our own Cup with say the 2nd-5th place finishers from the four leagues. That would be a 16-team league of the best of the rest. Well... it would be cool if I can hang on to 5th.

Hopefully you are right horror fan as that would give me some hope for the remainder of what's left of the season. If not it would be really cool to do the best of the rest format if we could somehow organize it. Haven't done a rotisserie style pool in years but really enjoyed it!

He had the top overall fantasy player (Ovechkin, 6th overall), top goaltenders (Fleury/Crawford/Vokoun, 1st in Wins, 1st in GAA), one of the top sleeper pick (Voracek, 126th overall - Yahoo Final Rank: 31st), and possibly the best Free Agent grab (Tlusty - Yahoo Final Rank: 48th).
Also gotta hand it to Rougie.
I thought the championship was decided a week or two ago and Rougie pulled to within 1.5pts after Saturday's games.
+/- may have been the decider.
Savages finished with 3pts... barely. -28 vs. -29 (2nd last).

It was an exciting finish.
As strategy goes, I poured more effort into this league than any other this year.
Not really disappointed to finish 3rd... had some bad luck (Malkin & Green injuries) and two goalies (Bryz & Varly) that nobody (incl. horrorfan & bondon) thought would be as bad as they were.
Almost all of the managers in this league were very active right to the end.
A fine, fine group of gentlemen.
Best of luck to Savages (Nick) as he joins the big boys in the Pro Divisions next year!

Nickel City here...Wow, I just checked this thread for the 1st time since the season started. Looks like I missed some great posts!
Gotta admit this was a fun league with lots of activity. Looking back on things now, I regret picking Lundquist 2nd overall and passing on my instinct to take OV.
