No it is not. Unless perhaps you believed he was a lock to make the NHL roster. Which would be unwise. Way more often than not these 18 year old kids don’t live up to the hype right off the bat.

Am I reading too much into things, or are the Jackets acting like they don't have a lot of faith in Adam Fantilli right now? He started training camp on the second line, then he was bumped to the third line, and now they are apparently trying Laine at centre between Gaudreau and Marchenko.

Laine at centre... that probably had several comics in the papers about it the next day in Ohio.

I don't read anything into the preseason. It's an opportunity to try different guys out in different roles to see where they fit. There was never any guarantee that Fantilli was starting in the top six to start his career anyway.

I am willing to read into trying Laine at center. That seems weird, weirder than what Toronto is trying.

If Laine can actually take draws successfully, that's a good enough result just to maybe have another option in case your primary gets tossed on the PP.

Based on #CBJ forward lines again today, it would appear that Kent Johnson and Liam Foudy will be healthy scratches for Thursday's opener. Looks like Adam Boqvist will be the odd man out on defense.

thanks and damn looks like roslovic is gettin the texier treatment from 2 seasons ago. where texier was top line and center then ROS took that spot and now on 4th hmmm.
