I honestly can't remember. I have a theory that Hemsky is so happy to be scoring again that as far as he's concerned a net is a net....must. put. puck. in net.

And an honorable mention to Anders Lindback for creating a new style of goaltending that we shall dub "Floundering Walrus".

Ritchie owners will like this, he finished the first and opened the second skating with Benn and Seguin.

Unbelievable. Columbus gets away with a blatant stick hold and then a cross check, blatant as well, and then the goal. Bullshite!

Well we threw that one away. Flat to start and never really got going until the third. 0-5 on the power play hurts too. It got to the point Ruff was just rolling regular line combos through hoping maybe they could use the familiarity to get something going on the man advantage. Bobrovsky kept them in it and we just couldn't get the bounces. Like I said the other night there would be bumps in the road, and tonight was one, so we sit back and wait and see how they respond in Nashville. Three of the four goals were square on us, Hemsky with the own goal, and that belly flop....whatever the heck it was from Lindback. The Connuaton goal never should have gotten by anybody. But it did.

There were some bright spots. The rookies looked good tonight. Ritchie spent the final 40 with Benn and Seguin, and even logged 3:06 on the power play. They had some chances but just couldn't convert. I would look for him to get the next game with them. No surprise but during the broadcast Ralph Strangis brought up the subject of Ritchie's status, quotes Nill as saying it's still game-to-game. Not shocked that they would say that, but he's still doing plenty of good things even when he's not getting on the scoresheet, so I don't think he's in serious jeopardy of going back to Cedar Park in the near term.

Oleksiak is looking much better since his return from Cedar Park. That play to break up the 2-on-1 late in the second would never have happened two or three weeks ago. He's finally starting to understand what an advantage that monstrous wingspan of his is. That has been one of the things that the Stars have been wanting him to figure out. It appears as though he's starting to get his head around it, among other aspects of his game.

And Klingman, damnit, I mean Klingberg is still playing a solid game defensively and getting some looks offensively. Sure he's been quieter than he was in the early going but he's weathered that little rough patch and starting to swing back the other way. Naturally don't expect him to get back to that insane pace he had in November though.

Excellent start for the Stars. Dominating in all facets, they have just smothered the Avs so far. So far. Gotta keep the foot on the gas here. Expect a pushback, but if they weather it I think from what we've seen from Colorado in the first they just aren't ready for this one and can be throttled for the remainder.

I think we're starting to see what Ritchie's signature scoring move is/will be. Come in and lay a hit in the corner, win the ensuing puck battle, move it to a teammate in behind the net, move to the front and viola, goal. Two of his three goals to start his career have come by that sequence.

Blatant goalie interference from Landeskog and the zebras allow the goal.

Not having Fiddler out there for the PK is showing. He sets the tone for the Stars on the PK.

    They survived that one though.
