F the Red Wings. Talk about a team I'm rooting very much against making the playoffs. I've hated that team ever since I started loving hockey. I'll still be friends with you in the GoT threads though.

It all comes down to us and Nashville. The Stars and Preds have to win out, and in regulation too, in order for the playoff drought to end. Naturally the Stars end of the deal is the only one they need to focus on. But Stars fans have been here before over the last four years, the playoffs so tantalizingly close, only to have their hearts ripped out. The odds are long but stranger things have happened.
- No changes in the line combos and D pairings are anticipated from what I've read.
Whitney - Benn - Eriksson
Nystrom - Fiddler - Cole
Smith - Eakin - Garbutt
MacDermid - Wandell - Roussel
Daley - Robidas
Dillon - Goligoski
Rome - Larsen
Lehtonen
- Chiasson will miss his fifth straight game, and his status for Saturday is still unknown.
- It was revealed by Mike Heika that Alex Goligoski has been playing the last three or four games with a "spider" fracture in one of his feet. It was described as being the same thing Ray Whitney had earlier this season. As of now the plan is for Goli to keep playing. All involved said it was just a matter of pain management and let it heal in the offseason.

I just realized I hadn't posted anything after the Columbus game. Well I read this piece from Mike Heika yesterday, and I think he sums everything up better than I ever could so here's the link....

As far as tonight goes, here's the lines Gulutzan will roll out for what may very well be his last game behind the bench....
Whitney - Benn - Eriksson
Nystrom - Fiddler - Cole
Smith - Eakin - Garbutt
MacDermid - Wandell - Roussel
Rome - Robidas
Dillon - Goligoski
Benn - Larsen

Sadly pride is all Dallas has left to play for, and they're facing a team with everything to lose, and at the same time much to gain. Detroit's 21-year playoff streak is on the line plus a win gives them Anaheim instead of Chicago in the first round. So what does that mean? It means I won't be surprised if this season ends like last season, a playoff spot within their reach and a five game losing streak to end the season. A win would be great, but more important, win or lose, just go out and show some fire and passion for the game and leave it all on the ice when it's all said and done.
- Trevor Daley is out tonight with a lingering neck injury that may require surgery during the off-season.
- Alex Chiasson is also out, though in his case it's more a matter of resting him before he heads back to the Texas Stars. He, Jordie Benn, and Reilly Smith are all due to head back to Cedar Park tomorrow.

I just wanted to give you a shoutout on the excellent coverage you've done here, NWO. Awesome!
GO WINGS!
Here's another good read from Heika. This one gets Gaglardi's take on what he sees in his team....

There was one minor tweak to the lines since the morning updates. Smith and Roussel swapped spots, Roussel to LW3 and Smith to RW4, according to twitter updates from warm-ups.
Here's hoping they go into the off-season in style. Tomorrow doesn't come for another four months, so there's no reason not to leave every last ounce of energy or fight out there on the ice.

All indications are the Dallas Stars are about to make a GM change. Detroit's Jim Nill expected to be named GM of Stars as early as Mon.
