Default My pitching staff for the second half... changes?

    1 year, 10 team, H2H.
HR, R, RBI, SB, AVG, OPS
    K, ERA, WHIP, W, SV, K/BB
    Currently in 2nd.

    Here's my team:
    C: Weiters
    1B: Konerko
    2B: Kipnis
    3B: Lawrie
    SS: H. Ramirez
    OF: Braun, Bruce, McCutchen
    Util: Utley, Dunn, Aramis Ramirez
    DL: Ellsbury

SP: Weaver, Price, Zimmerman, A. Sanchez, Worley, Masterson, Diamond, Hellickson
RP: Clippard, Hanrahan, Capps, Reed, Parnell
    DL: Morrow

How confident should I be in my hitters for the 2nd half? I've got a lot of options on batting, and with Ellsbury returning, I'm thinking of trying to make a trade for another great pitcher. I'm hoping guys like Masterson, Anibal Sanchez, and Hellickson can have better 2nd halves, with Morrow hopefully pulling it together in time for fantasy playoffs.

Your pitching is pretty good overall. Obviously Masterson is a concern but you are pretty solid otherwise. I wouldn't try to upgrade there unless you can do so on the cheap.

If you're looking to make an upgrade I'd consider trying to package Dunn with one of you pitchers. I've gotten some pretty good returns from him in a few pools

I'd only be worried about Utley, Masterson, Diamond and Capps.

    Any viable FA options?

Thanks for the responses guys. I recently dropped Utley for Neil Walker. Notable FA options:

Really only Tyler Colvin for batting, and I don't like having bench batters. I suppose I could drop Neil Walker for him, although he's been looking great... You guys think Colvin could keep it up? I need AVG and SB.

Pitching: Not many great starter options. McCarthy (when's he back anyways?), Ted Lilly (almost back), Tommy Milone, Colon, Cashner, Bauer

As for relievers, a few interesting options: Marmol, Ogando, Oviedo, Cishek, Romo

Not too much. I like Diamond a lot, Masterson has looked better lately (minus his last start, against the Rays, who always dominate him).

Can't believe Walker was still out there. He's a top 10 2b. I'm from Chicago, and i wouldn't think about adding Marmol to my team. Try and pick up Milone or Quintana (CWS). Good luck.

    I'd make two moves.

    1. Drop Diamond for Romo
    2. Drop Masterson for McCarthy

With your depth at OF, I'd dangle Ellsbury if he gets off to a fast start from the DL and see what you can get for a top-flight SP.

Thanks a bunch guys. The league is a bit slow picking up on RP, so I'm going to hold off on picking up Romo for now, but he's definitely on my radar. I think I may make that McCarthy move soon.

And absolutely about Ellsbury, although my weak stats (my only losing-record stats) are AVG and SB so I'm hoping he could turn it around. There is one particular owner who has terrible batting but strong pitching, I was thinking of trying to get Cain off of him, or Hamels off of another owner.

    Thanks again.
