I just read Lamb, The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal. It was one of the funniest books I have ever read. It's the story of Jesus through his childhood friend, Biff's eyes. Some may consider it blasphemous, but I thought it was very tongue in cheek. In the inside cover this is written by the author, Christopher Moore.
“If you have come to these pages for laughter, may you find it.
If you are here to be offended, may your ire rise and your blood boil.
If you seek an adventure, may this song sing you away to blissful escape.
If you need to test or confirm your beliefs, may you reach comfortable conclusions.
All books reveal perfection, by what they are or what they are not.
May you find that which you seek, in these pages or outside them.
May you find perfection, and know it by name.”
Some of my favorite quotes from it
Nobody's perfect. Well, there was this one guy, but we killed him....
    “Josh: "What is this thing?"
Gasper: "It's a Yeti. An abominable snowman."
Biff: "This is what happens when you f**k a sheep?"
    Josh: "Not an abomination, abominable.”
    Brilliant stuff.

"Seducing The Subconscious" by Robert Heath. So far it's one of the best books on advertising I've ever read.

Started King's The Gunslinger the other night, but stopped after ~50 pages. Just couldn't get into it.

So I picked up "The Stand" from my bookshelf and started that last night. This sucker is going to take me 80+ hours to get through.

My sis has a massive King collection that I currently "own" on my bookshelf. Can't believe she read them all in her mid-teens.
Hockey Pools? Too many to mention. Points only, salary cap and dynasty.

When do you guys get the time to read books? Between work, kids, wife and fantasy hockey and football, where is there time left to read??

I just finished two books, by Lars Kepler (a couple who work under this pseudonym), called The Hypnotist and The Nightmare. Both fantastic, edge of your seat murder mysteries that I finished within six days. It's been a while since I've had such a great "can't put down" novel and these were exactly that. If you enjoyed Steig Larsen's trilogy (girl with dragon tattoo) you would definitely like these and even if you didn't (maybe found them slow) these two move at a much quicker pace.

    HIGHLY recommend!

Started reading The Stand myself and couldn't get through. Enjoyed it for the most part (love post-apocalyptic theme) but found it very repetitive.

Today I ordered a couple of new hockey books:

1.) Breakaway: From Behind the Iron Curtain to the NHL - The Untold Story of Hockey's Great Escapes by Tal Pinchevsky

2.) A Wild Stab for It: This Is Game Eight from Russia by Dave Bidini and Brian Pickell

In the event there is a lockout I will keep myself occupied with hockey. I love reading material on the Summit Series and old Soviet hockey system.

I haven't, though I do own his Whirlwind 1st edition. Just found it and got it for free so holding onto it in case it ends up being worth something.

I'm running out of reading material and came back to this thread looking for some more ideas. I noticed there hasn't been anything posted for awhile so I figured I'd bump this and see if anybody had any new books, or series, to add.

I'm currently looking at picking up Bernard Cornwell's Saxon Chronicles and Tim Severin's Viking Trilogy.

I'm reading How to ruin a professional hockey league by Bary Gettman. But I'm thinking that's a pseudonym.
