Brunnstrom to Detroit?

So the rumour I keep hearing is that Brunnstrom is headed to Detroit but they can\'t sign him until his season in Sweden is over. Anyone have any current info on this kid and his situation?

Now that the trading deadline is over with, when can any team put an offer to Brunnstrom ? (heck...why not Brendl or Morozov also)

I am wondering if the same rules apply as free agents, and that we\'ll have to wait until July 1st for some news.

I think it is when the SEL ends, I think May 1 is the day.

Because Morozov is making $4.5 million tax free playing in Russia. No way he is leaving to come back here and make a whole lot less.

Time to revive an old thread. Fabian Brunnstrom\'s season just ended less than an hour ago. Where will he sign? Detroit? Toronto? Vancouver? Atlanta? I thought I\'d throw that last one in there. It could be sort of like Ovechkin-Backstrom lite next season! I\'m hoping we find out soon.

Where does brunnstrom rank among these guys?

I could be wrong on this, but I thought I read somewhere that Brunnstrom would have to wait and sign after the NHL season was over. If he signed before that, he\'d have to clear waivers, and if that\'s the case, there would be no point signing before the season ended.

I think that\'s only if he wants to play this year. He can simply sign a contract for next season now no problem.

Thats what I heard, too. Brunnstrom can\'t sign with another team until his season is over. I heard that the two front runners are Detroit and Vancouver. I\'d imagine that both teams will be pushing hard and both have a great chance because of the Swedish influences on their team. Ultimately, I hope Detroit gets him because I\'m a big fan of the Wings.

Toronto is the team that needs him most and will push for him hard, and they also have the Swedish influence (closer to Brunstrom\'s age as well)

The leafs should just make Borje Salming pay a visit to Bruunstrom\'s house and he\'ll be a leaf before you can say LEAFS SUCK.

I think Detroit will get him just because of all the sweeds they have and also that the Red WIngs always make the playoffs lol..
