Default Santana - Truth or lie

A couple different reports regarding Johan Santana injury.

The Bergen Record reports that Johan Santana (shoulder) has not been progressing as hoped and internally the Mets believe they'll be "lucky" if he pitches at all in 2011.
The source told Steve Popper and Bob Klapisch that the team is concerned enough that they could halt Santana's rehab if his light throwing doesn't go well, which would wipe out the previous timetable of a return in late June/early July. However, Mets pitching coach Dan Warthen has scoffed at the report, saying Santana's progress actually "has been great," and "he's right on time, if not maybe a step or two ahead of that." Mets GM Sandy Alderson also chimed in, saying "there's nothing wrong" with Santana's rehab. It appears the report might be misguided, but the reality is that if Santana does return for the second half this season, no one is sure just how effective he'll be.

Johan Santana (shoulder) said someone is "lying" about his rehab, insisting that everything is coming along just fine.
Santana was forced to address his status after a report from the Bergen Record indicated that he wasn't progressing well and the Mets were considering shutting him down. The team's original timetable of a late June/early July return appears to be intact.

yea more negative news just continues to come out on his rehab. the reporters who got this are pretty respectable while the mets on the other hand have been known to put out misguiding statements about negative reports on the team, for instance, the madoff situation.

im more likely to trust this reporter than the mets right now.

I don't think anyone knows the truth but this is a very weird situation, why the Mets would give out a false report is beyond me. He's paid 30 mill and he's not the same Johan Santana anymore, maybe they're planning to buy him out or move him somehow?
