    What do you think now?
Adding a prospect like Sproul there doesn't increase the value of that offer at all. That's horrible offer for Crosby. It's only Parise and then some spare parts. Keep Crosby and tell the other guy to give you a legitimate offer or piss off.

If the other manager is arguing that Crosby's missed a lot of time lately, you could fire back that Parise missed almost all of last season with his knee injury. And trust me I love Parise but after Crosby's had a full offseason to train and prep for next season he's gonna tear it up. Much like Malkin did this past year even after his knee problems last season. Now is NOT the time to trade Crosby!

It's a good time to sell Crosby, but you still need to get value for him. And that offer would not cut it.

    Trade-by-Replacement-Point Analysis

    1. You have a deep, deep league with 24 teams & 4/4/4/6/2 roster.
    2. I'd guess that the replacement level forward & defenseman are about 30pts/20pts. Guys are going to come & go at this level in your league.

So, you are looking to get a package that gives you a significant improvement.

First, let's assume Crosby still has 120pt potential.
Second, let's assume that you are also making space by cutting a scrub forward, 30pts.
    2 Players = 150pts.
    3 Players = 180pts. (assuming you cut a 3rd "scrub" forward at 30pts)

To make this trade, you should be looking at getting 170-180pts back in 2-players.
To make this trade, you should be looking at getting 210-220pts back in 3-players.

Parise is an 80pt player, IMO.
He's not offering you another 80-90pt players so.

    Crosby 120pts + Scrub 30pts
    is better than
    Parise 80pts + Zajac 55pts

    Also
    Crosby 120pts + Scrub 30pts + Scrub 30pts
    is better than
    Parise 80pts + Zajac 55pts + Anisimov 50pts

Neither trade is good for you.

Overall, here's the way I advise on Crosby trades in Keeper leagues:
    1. If your team is finishing 2nd/3rd/4th... and you just needed some healthy 60 & 70pt players to win the championship, THAT is when you consider moving Crosby.

    2. If your team needs a full healthy 120pt season from Crosby to win the championship... then you have to keep him and take that risk.

Finishing 2nd or 3rd or 4th is crap.
Finish 1st... or finish at the bottom - and that is what owning Crosby allows.
