rangers were just playing out the string. Sens have looked lost the last couple games.
Rangers in 5. Just to strong, King will dominate.

Craig Anderson is going to be cutting himself again before this is over.
I went with Rangers in 7. Ottawa actually won the season series 3-1-0 so I think they deserve a lot more credit than they're getting in this thread. The Sens didn't finish out the season very well, but neither did the Rangers really.
I still think NY will just be too much for the Sens, but it's gonna be a better series than a lot of people think.

Sens have been beating the odds all season long. I think they have been highly underrated since preseason and it is continuing through till now. I think it will be close, a lot of 1 goal games and over times. My guess is this one goes seven and Sens win this round.

Sens are surprisingly 3-1 against the Rangers this year, but I still like New York in 5.
This series will hinge on Chris Neil. If he's healthy I give the Sens 50-50 odds on pulling hte "upset" here. I expect Maclean to have the Sens playing full on trap, and the Ranger's D IMO isn't capable of breaking down this type of system, leading to a couple extra odd man rushes/powerplays for the Sens.
Ottawa is 11-2-1 in MSG since the lockout. Craig Anderson is 7-3-1 against New York, with a 1.87 GAA and .941 SV% in his career.
Ottawa also has more playoff experience than the Rangers, believe it or not. Plus, the Rangers simply don't have an answer for Karlsson. Karlsson and Alfredsson know Lundqvist inside and out, as they are all familiar with eachother from back home with Frolunda. Robin Lehner's dad coached Lundqvist so I think they may get some extra advice as well.
Every time Ottawa plays the Rangers, they look like a very confident group and the Rangers look pretty average.
I think either team can win it and Ottawa is getting no credit once again. The Rangers were one of two teams I thought the Sens could beat, along with Florida.
This series is going 7. That's all I'm predicting. IMO, Rangers one of the weaker 1 seeds in a while.

Hope the Sens can pull off an upset but I think the Rangers will be using the broom here.

My article on this from The hockey Writers.
The First place New York Rangers will hold home ice advantage in a best of seven series against the eighth placed Ottawa Senators in round one of the 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Will this be a quick series sweep as the standings would indicate, or is there potential for a first round upset?
