As much as I love Benn...this one isn't even close. Tavares takes this one 9 out of the next 10 seasons.

Yep without something like PIM its nt that close. Tavares for me.
The worse-singing JT takes this one.

Benn shouldn't have beaten Kopitar. Tavares is better here.

grammar Nazi
Noun
(slang, idiomatic) 1. A person who habitually corrects or criticizes the language usage of others, especially in situations where it is unnecessary, e.g. an informal conversation.
Notes: This behavior is almost always found in people with very low I.Q's, whom have a very low sense of self worth. Impotence is also commonly linked to Grammar Nazi's.
While this is definitely Tavares, Kopitar under Sutter's system is hardly a boner-inducing option.
Let's do a quick comparison here:
Kopitar:
1st NHL season (19) - 61 points in 72 games (0.85)
2nd NHL season (20) - 77 points in 82 games (0.94)
3rd NHL season (21) - 66 points in 82 games (0.81)
4th NHL season (22) - 81 points in 82 games (0.99)
5th NHL season (23) - 73 points in 75 games (0.97)
6th NHL season (24) - 62 points in 72 games (0.86)
Benn:
1st NHL season (20) - 41 points in 82 games (0.5)
2nd NHL season (21) - 56 points in 69 games (0.82)
3rd NHL season (22) - 57 points in 61 games (0.94)
So what am I getting at? If you take out Benn's first season, you get a pretty similiar outlook (0.85 vs 0.82 and 0.94 vs 0.94). If you look at age, they stack up pretty similiar. When they were 21 they produced at 0.81 and 0.82 respectively. When they were 22 they produced at 0.99 and 0.94 respectively.
What else do you know? Kopitar has pretty much played solely in a 1st line role with ample PP time. Meanwhile, Benn played behind Richards during his stead in Dallas and still had to compete with Ribeiro.
Neither has hit their prime yet, both have had similiar career trajectories, but the thing that sets them apart for me is that Benn hasn't been given as much opportunity as Kopitar, has less experience, and is younger. Add in the fact that Kopitar plays under Sutter, yuck.
I don't even remember who I voted for, but honestly, I'm liking Benn. If Sutter disappears I'll give the edge to Kopitar.
