I remember asking myself this exact same question the last time he started against the Pens...
Brodeur is a "big game" goalie, he absolutely thrives against the big teams...
He's 3-0-0 with a 1.33 GAA and .961 SP vs the Pens this season...
Last 3 years, 11-1-1 with a 0.91 GAA and a .970 SP...
Since lockout, 25-10-1 with a 2.16 GAA and .926 SP...
So yes! you should start him!

I'm starting to wonder whether I should start MAF against Brodeur now.....He has a horrible career against NJD....
So far this season, Kovalchuk has played 4 games against the pens and have been their first star for 3 of the games. He has 9 points in the 4 games he's played against the penguins. He's a Penguin killer....I really can't see the upside in starting MAF tomorrow really I can't....
I guess MAF's win streak ends at 9 and the team's win streak ends at 10. This is very heartbreaking for my team lol.
Maybe the Pens will pull out with a victory consider none of the contests had Crosby participating in it. Maybe Crosby will be the difference maker

Possibly the worst logic I've ever seen on here, haha. I'm sitting Brodeur against a team that is absolutely on fire and just got both the best offensive forward and the best offensive defenseman in the league back in their lineup. I'm rolling with Bryzgalov against the Bruins and Bishop against the Leafs. If Bishop doesn't start then it'll just be Bryz. I'm not taking my chances on Brodeur annihilating my ratios.
Brodeur has a 1.33GA facing the Pens he won't let in much and has been on fire just as much as Pens were. Coming off a big shutout win and is super confident. I'm scared of Brodeur man....looking just me 2 cents

Don't look at career splits, home/away for this one. All you need to look at is 10 in a row, and the drive for #1 overall which Pitt can't get unless they keep winning. Oh... and the fact that NOW their team is healthy for the first time in a long time. Letang, Crosby, Malkin, Neal, etc...
Fleury will give up a few (hopefully for my teams sake to Kovy shorthanded) but I for one AM starting Fleury.
Brodeur has given up 4 goals and the 2nd period isn't over yet. I guess that means he's due to shut them out in the 3rd!
Terrible call if you actually started Brodeur, hate to say I told you so. So will whoever the Philly goalie is tomorrow.
