Howard/MacDonald - number of starts remaining?
When Minnesota goalie Niklas Backstrom went down, I picked up Joey MacDonald as a replacement. However, now that Jimmy Howard looks to be back, I'm wondering how many starts Joey Mac is going to get down the stretch run. If Howard is going to get the large majority of starts over the next 3 weeks, it's really not worth it for me to hold on to MacDonald. Any thoughts on the remaining starts between these two?

As long as Howard stays healthy, I'm guessing J-Mac gets 2-3 starts in the remaining 13 games.
They have 2 back-to-backs and 2 games against CLB in which they could give Howard a bit of a rest.
Detroit is fighting for position in the West, so they still need to play Howard as much as possible.

Seeing as Howard is just coming back and the Wings have a doubleheader Tue/Wed, I think MacDonald will be in net tomorrow. After that I would drop him because I expect the Wings to keep up the trend they worked when Conklin was the backup which was that he only started road games. Everyone knows that they have struggled on the road this year so I would just avoid the situation all together.
before howard got hurt he was playing a ton. i fully expect them to ride howard the rest of the way. expect 2-3 starts max.
