But of course now that a Philly goalie is playing well he gets hit with the "flu". I hope it's only that and he will get back to playing like the $50 million man he was expected to be.
Did the Flyers figure out the secret to Bryzgalov's success?
In Bryz's last 7 starts, he is 3-1-3 with 1 SO.
He's saved 187 of the 200 shots he's faced. That's a .935 sv%
Not factoring in OT [and the 15 minutes of it he played] he has a GAA of 1.86
In this sample of 7 games, the Flyers have take 26 penalties. Bryzgalov has only let in one power play goal.
This leaves the Flyers with a 96.2% PK. To put that into perspective, the league leader over the season is MTL with a 89.9% PK.
I haven't watched all the games, what are your thoughts? Is Bryz playing confidently and stopping more of the deflections that have haunted him all year? Are the Flyers blocking more shots? Or is the PK really just that good?

Better starts, more focus and attentiveness, and most importantly, he's challenging shooters and being more aggressive. A more aggressive Bryz = a more alert Bryz = more focus and no more leaky, untimely goals against.
In the shootout, if you look back, he's caught deep in his crease and gets burned. When he pushes out, telescopes out, challenges more, he's not only covering more of the net, he's forced to rely more on his reflexes. He has to react with more precision and alertness.
When he's caught deep in his net, or moves with a somewhat lazy or lackadaisical disposition, especially if that happens early, he often struggles.
Bryz you big baby ah too sick to play.
Spoiled rich Mofo's.
Cost me another week. What was I thinking to draft this dog.
No I get points even if he loses. He had 4 games this week and only played 1.
So even if he played tonight and had 25 saves Id get 7 points and my opponent is ahead by 8. we get .25 a save and minus 1 for goals against.
6 points for a win and 4 for a shutout.
We play 2 a week.
