Enjoying some DFH 90 Minute IPA while watching the Yotes vs Sabres.

...and, yes, I cheered when the Yotes scored.

Knocking back a can of Tallgrass Buffalo Sweat and then going to follow that up with the last bottle of Blvd The Calling.

That's a nice start to the evening NoWayOut......I'm looking forward to moving onto a Punchbowl IPA from local Vancouver Brewery.....Russell. It's new, so I'll pass on my thoughts once I sample.

Did you happen to cross paths with The Calling on your trip? Curious your thoughts on it if you did.

I never did....only hit one bottle shop in California, and none in Wash. Have you had it yet? The reviews are very good:

Oh yeah, just getting ready to pop a top on the last one. Excellent IPA, big on the grapefruit flavor. Lots of other tropical notes as it warms and gets a chance to breathe. Not really a session beer, 8%+, but it sure drinks like one on the tongue. Sneaky. Perfect for kicking back with and watching some baseball. Nurse it as the innings roll by.

Wouldn't be surprised if it's just now hitting the shops out West. I was mistaken that it had come out in late February, came out here in their own backyard just this month. Their beer release chart had made it seem as if it had been out longer than it actually had.

    Nice
I find that those release charts are usually behind...so, not surprising that you've had it already, but you are closer to the source. I'm sure it's making it's way to Wash state by now....I hope to get back to the states soon to see if I can seek it out.

    Cheers!

My weekend started off with a trip to my brew store...I came away with Ballast Point's Durado, Even Keel, Grunion and also scored Samuel Smith's Organic Chocolate Stout.

First time trying the Grunion...impressive hoppy pale ale.

One of my all-time favorites. Can't seem to ever leave the store without cleaning out their supply. At least what's in the cooler anyway.

Hey let us (me) know how that Even Keel turned out. I spied a sixer at the store yesterday, but opted for Lagunitas Sucks.

Bomm....Even Keel is good, but if you opted for Sucks......you win! As long as it was halfway close to fresh (ish)...delicious. I'm pretty sure Even Keel is ballast points jump into the session beer market.

Yep definitely their session beer with 3.8% abv. Even Keel is great, very piney with grapefruit notes. Body and color are light and flavor is very crisp. Love the aroma.

This is one extremely drinkable beer and is unique like most of the BP brews.
