It is. Speaking of nice session IPA's....just finishing the night off with the new(ish) Oskar Blues Pinner IPA. Great hop smell and taste but under 5%...who knew?

Never had the pleasure of trying any Ballast Point brews, not available in my neck of the woods. Someday I will cross paths with some but for now they're on the list of beers to try.
In the meantime I'm thinking a bottle of The Calling is in order. Too hefty on the ABV(8.5%) to really be a true session beer, but has all the flavor hallmarks you'd ever want in one.

If you ever travel anywhere near San Diego......you have to hit Alpine Brewing (about 30 min out of town). a tiny, hole in the wall brewery and pub. Unreal Beer!! I can't say anything else other than...unreal!! Their hoppy beers are especially amazing. Off to ballast point in the am...

It's funny....I've sampled thousands of beer (literally) and especially during the last 5 years, I have pretty much just kept to IPA's....my absolute favourite style. That being said, I still put Fat Tag in my Top 5 IPA/IIPA of all time. I often bring a bomber when I travel and offer it up to staff in the bottle shops I visit.
With that being said.....I'm about to open a HopHunter from Sierra Nevada.....possibly one of the best smelling IPA I've ever sampled.

Tried a bottle of Deschutes Hop Henge Experimental IPA. Quite enjoyed it.
Did not realize upon starting the bomber that it clocked in at a robust 9.5% abv. I'd definitely drink it again.
