Just got back from the beer store myself. In the fridge is an 8 Wired Hopwired IPA. I'll drink it cooking dinner (pad thai from scratch) and listening to tunes. Cooking on Saturday night is one of the highlights of my week. I usually drink a new beer on these nights and I always listen to music. Tonight is no exception. I think a Hopwired IPA will go well with Bone Machine by Tom Waits.

I must say.... the Hopwired IPA is right up my alley. Great hoppiness. I actually quite impressed. It even reminds me a little bit of my beloved Hop Zombie. I think it will a reasonable substitute.

The bottle says that is unique in its New Zealandness... "We're pretty sure HopWired is the first bottled new world India Pale Ale made with NZ grown pale ale malt and 100% unique NZ hops. We bet you'll find nothing else like it on the shelves."

Worth a try for that alone.

a bit hit and miss with Pumpkin beers, but tis the season, and this one was nice

I've got a hockey game to coach this pm, then we'll have to see if I can wind the evening down with something new.

What's everyone else up to tonight?

So I should pick up that Hopwired IPA? It was like $8 a bottle - worth it?

Going to dive into that Blackbutte Porter tonight.

I've tried The Big Smoke. It's a smoked porter. Never had anything like it before. It reminded me of a bon fire, but in a good, beer way. I really liked the Hopwired so I'm likely going to try their entire range now. I'll let you know what they are like as I do.

Man, I'm just enjoying this Fresh Hop Ale from from Fremont in Seattle. I think I've already posted this link once, but if you see it and can get your hands on....exceptional indeed.

Well that black butte was some great stuff - not my favorite beer or anything but definitely my favorite porter.

After a growler, think its time for bed. Talk to you all Monday!

Going to enjoy one of my bottles of Saison-Brett whilst watching the zombie apocalypse here shortly. After that I'm going for some Union Jack IPA and Little Sumpin Sumpin Ale.
Your beer mug isn't half-empty, your just half-way to the next refill.....

My buddy and I split 3 big Blind Pigs from Russian River last night and now I'm finally done with my case of Pliny and Blind Pig. Great stuff.

Now I need to pick up a case of something else this week. Or just steal from my friend who lives with us. He bought a bunch of the Sam Adams Fall Fest packs and an Ocktoberfest pack.

Man, I miss my Russian River Stuff.

I've said it before...you can do a lot worse than those Sam Adams mixed packs. I try to pick them up when I can as they offer solid beers in some different styles you may not often get a chance to try.
