Bernier for Varlamov?
In my keeper league I just got offered Jonathan Bernier for Semyon Varlamov straight-up. We only count wins and shutouts in out league and right now I'm rolling with Roloson with Reimer and Varlamov on my bench. We have limited moves so the only way I'd likely make a lineup change is if Roloson got hurt or lost playing time.
Should I make this deal?
A year ago the answer would easily have been a quick yes. But, what is Bernier's future in LA? Will he ever unseat Quick or will he ended up getting traded elsewhere? Roloson is no way going to the goalie for my team next year which I why I grabbed Reimer to likely use as my keeper going forward. I grabbed Varlamov late in the draft this year and it could pay off big with his value on the rise?
Varlamov for Bernier good deal for the future??

You have Roloson, TB's #1, and you have Varly, Col's #1. Why would you trade him for a tender who will split starts at best? Roli is an older tender, too. If he goes down, you have a backup for insurance in Berni, instead of a starter, Varly. No way you trade Varly! Besides the clear cut starter issue and Berni splitting starts at best, you have no goaltending outside of these two. This is an easy decision. You keep Varly.

Keep Varlamov and roll with what you have. If they stay healthy and keep their #1 slots, Varlamov and Reimer are plenty young and have a lot of years ahead of them.
