    Default Niemi or Crawford?

Points only W=2 SO=3 Limited keeper league.

Niemi is recovering from what seems to be a minor surgery to remove a cyst. He is questionable at this point to start the season. I think he could be a work horse on a very good SJ team. I think he gets 35 wins if he starts 65 games.

Crawford played well last season for the Hawks posting 33 wins and 4 So. This was his first full season with the Hawks, and a sophomore slump scares me. The Forecaster has him leading the league at 41 wins and 6 SO. Seems a little over optimistic to me.

That being said, who would you choose?

Niemi - better team, possibly better goalie.

    Pretty easy choice for me.

Niemi, even if the Sharks will possibly fall down in the standings in the next years, Niemi is a better goalie and Salak might steal #1 spot in Chicago...

    I would also take Niemi.

Quenneville = fickle = I'm worried about Crawford losing starts. Niemi is pretty much assured to be the #1 in San Jose, and at this stage in the game, Niemi is a little more proven.

    My two cents.
Goalies: If I'm pickin em you best be sittin em!

Yes go with Niemi. I like his situation in San Jose a bit better.

Do not count out Crawford though, Chicago will be battling for one of the best teams in the league.

This decision is a win win decision whichever direction you go. I would personally go with Niemi though.

I really think Niemi is a safer bet.
I would draft Niemi ahead of Crawford in your point format.
Keeper league (12 teams) - keep 6 (+ NHL team is auto keep)
    Weekly lineup: 1T, 9F, 4D, 1G
    Points only:
    Forwards & Dmen: goal (1), assist (1)
    Goalies: win (2), otl/sol (1), shutout (2)
    Team: win (2), otl/sol (1)
Only 2 FA pickups for the season (remaining: 0)

    [T] Edmonton
    [F] Panarin, Pettersson, Bedard
    [D] Heiskanen, Theodore, Dobson
