    Default Heatley or Kessel?

    Hi all,

In a 10 team keeper league and we only get to keep 5 of any position.

    My keepers will be;

    G - Price
    D - Shattenkirk
    F - H. Sedin
    F - Tavares
    F - Kessel or Heatley

I'm drafting 5th overall this year. Should I let Shat go, and grab him soon after or make sure I keep him and drop one of Kessel or Heatley?

    Thanks!

(Sorry if this is a repost - my post was not showing up for some reason)

    What are the cats?

I'd probably be keeping Price, H. Sedin, Tavares, Heatley, and either Kessel or Keith, depending on the categories.

I am keeping Keith over Shattenkirk and maybe even Carlson over Heatley and Kessel as well. That is if d-men are worth more. Usually much easier to pick up forwards of Kessels and Heatleys ilk in the first few rounds of a small leagues draft. Really depends as well on what other teams will be doing and what positional players will be available at the draft.

I would keep Price, Tavares, Keith, H. Sedin and Kessel. Unless its a cap league, I understand why you would keep Shattenkirk over Keith.

    Standard Stats:
G, A, +/-, PPP, SOG, W, GAA, SV% SHO - Nothing overly complicated. No Cap either.

Thanks for the input. Are we thinking Keith is going to have a bounce back season. He really killed me on +/-.

Keith over Shattenkirk easily. Keith has shown to be able to produce 69 points in a season. I would be willing to bet almost anything that Shattenkirk will never reach that number. In a down year Keith had 45 points. You simply have to keep him.

Heatley over Kessel. In a down year, Heatley produced as many points as Kessel in his best year so far. Heatley is only a year removed from being PPG status. While his linemates aren't as talented in Minnesota he still has lots of talent around him. He will also be relied more to produce offence in Minnesota than he was in San Jose.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Heater will be the go to guy in Minny, No more fighting for PP time with Pavelski, Couture, Clowe, etc. I just hope he shows up to camp healthy, and ready to play hockey.
