Default Thomas, Bryzzy, Hiller, or Price

Who would we rather have manning the cage a 3 year escalating contract?

    1. Thomas: 2011 @ $1, 2012 @ $8, 2013 @ $15

    2. Rinne: 2011 @ $17, 2012 @ $23, 2013 @ $28

    3. Hiller: 2011 @ $8, 2012 @ $15, 2013 @ $21

    4. Price: 2011 @ $29, 2012 @ $34, 2013 @ $38

    5. Bryzzy: 2011 @ $17, 2012 @ $23, 2013 @ $28

    Yikes..that's a weird system haha.

Depends I think. If you're looking at really going for it this year Thomas will obviously be the best bang for your buck.

Beyond that the best bang for your buck with long-term value is definitely Hiller for me.

But if you need someone long-term and you are antsy about Hiller's vertigo problems, then Rinne would be next on my list.

I can't fully fathom the value of those numbers without knowing the comparative value to your team's cap space and the other players on your team.

That said, Thomas at $1 jumps out at me as being a huge bargain, though perhaps the goalie with the biggest risk (Rask). By that 3rd year, I have my doubts that Thomas will be the starter.

Price's contract, alternatively, is very high, but he is the best goalie in the list and the one I'd want if I had the cap space.

Rinne seems like a terrific compromise between Thomas and Price, so he might be the logical choice. Decent mid-level contract and elite skill (which all these goalies have, I suppose).

Tough choices, but I think Rinne is the one I want.

I would go with Rinne here. But I am really tempted by Thomas and his $1 salary.

I think for average price and wins your're getting here, I might go Bryz. I know many don't think he can handle just winning games on a good team. Different kind of pressure and all. I think he's good and you can't go wrong with any of these guys, but he's pretty even on price I guess. So I might go there. I would have said Price if he wasn't so dang expensive. Thomas is great for this year, and Hiller, I just don't know if I trust him to stay healthy anymore.
