thanks for these updates KTL , good stuff , how do you view Howden? , I have read the Panther brass likes him but being a 2010 pick the clock has to be run out? still he's a 1st rounder but worth hangin onto as a prospect?

matter of fact I don't see Howden in tonites lineup! but I know they switch up in these preseason games.

IMO it´s not looking good for Quinton. These injuries that are piling up bascially lost him two years of development. Tallon was quoted today that one of the 4 coveted spots will go to a veteran, either Havlat or Booth.

Very bad game vs. Tampa tbh not much to pencil out as positive.

Good win last night.

It´s more or less safe to say that Trochek is making it. It looks like Bolland might move to wing instead.

The battles are still going on are:

Petrovic vs. Matheson. Both look like NHLérs and this i expect Petrovic to make it simply because he fits a bottom pairing way better.
Booth vs Havlat vs Grimaldi vs Brickley vs Howden with two of those making it. Havlat is on the outside and will most certainly not make it, Booth on the other hand might be a survivor. For the more offensive spot the Grimaldi injury came to the worst possible time for him. Connor Brickley is making a heck of a case for him to be slotted into this top 6 and might just run with it. Howden with an outside chance.

If it was really down to Booth vs. Havlat, I'm surprised Havlat won that one.

Good old Marty Havlat, won me a couple leagues back in the day when nobody was drafting Blackhawks...

Nah this cut is supersuprising to me but i think it comes down to giving Havlat as much chances as Booth since he had one game less. I would right now think Havlat does not make it either and both Howden and Brickley are in. If he somehow makes it he either has played a phenomenal last game or Tallon is drunk again. Brickley Howden and Booth all outplayed him so far.

Last night was typicial Panthers. One crappy period while dominating otherwise. The Pii-Bjugstad-Smith line stood out yesterday as well as Howden and Brickley. Havlat didn´t play which probably means he is gone.

Wilson and Olsen getting sent down alongside Crouse who did not make the 9 games trial. Right decision here. Still boggles my mind why Havlat is still here. Howden and Brickley have both made the team!

I thought Crouse would get a few season games, but they don't have to rush him, so that was probably best for his development.

Great game by Luo, the D, Bjugstad and Brickley. The rest ... especially Hubs and Pirri were crap.

I was watching most of this game and I heard the announcer say near the end of the game that Pirri had taken something like 10 shots but only 3 made it on goal. He was generating chances but the execution wasn't great.

Either way, this was a fun game to watch.
