    Default Nuevirth vs Markstrom

I can only protect one of them... I have Kipper as my starter.

It was going to be Nuevirth for sure until Voukon ruined that party...

    What do you guys think?

Something tells me neither will get a REAL opportunity for two more years. That said, Neuvirth will be playing for a juggernaut for the next few years (key is he will be playing). Id stick with him.
I would also see what I can get for Markstrom as he carries huge value. Too much just to drop.
For what its worth, shop them both and see what comes up.
I own both, and it would be a painfull decision.

I agree that you should just shop them around and see which fetches more. Remember Vokoun only signed on for 1 year and anything could happen during a season, so I don't think Neuvirth is as screwed as most people may think. My guess though is more people will be interested in Neuvirth.

    Default Neuvirth vs Markstrom

If it's for this year and next then the quantity of Neuvirth's starts and the Caps W/L record would dictate that he has the advantage for sure. For years 3 and 4 they'll probably both be equally important in the crease for their respective teams as #1 starters once Vokoun and Theodore are gone but Markstrom's pedigree and the competition from Holtby may start to swing the pendulum in Markstroms direction. That said unless the Panthers can begin to stock up on forward prospects, (or free agents), in that time frame to improve their club it'll be a moot point since the Caps should be a contender for the next 4-5 yrs for sure, (50+ wins to the Cats 30+). I'd take the one who offers the bird in hand right now being Neuvirth since Kipper's value could be falling greatly within the next year or two and hoping that Tallon can restock the cupboard quickly enough to make them a contending team may be a bit of a reach.

I'd go with the guy playing in the NHL.
Two Stroke Hockey League - Points only, full keeper
Capwise Full Keeper H2H Roto Leagues: East Coast Fantasy League,
Icey Cups Fantasy Hockey League - H2H Points, Full Keeper

This really comes down to whether your team is primed for a run in the 2012-2013 NHL season or the upcoming season. Neuvirth is the choice next year, but if you can afford to wait I would strongly recommend protecting Markstrom. After all, he is the number one goalie prospect out there.

Holtby makes me really nervous, I just can't go with Neuvy here.

Markstrom pretty much has a clear long term path in Florida. Neuvirth has Vokoun for at least this year and who knows , maybe he signs again after this year to stay in Washington? Also Holtby there. Granted the Caps could make a deal and move one out, etc. I wanna say Neuvirth, but his situation is cloudy.

I will go with Markstrom as I think its pretty much known the starting goaltender in Florida is most likely his gig sooner, rather than later.

My thoughts exactly here. Markstrom has a path to the big leagues, that's his to lose.

I like Markstrom but Florida worries me. They will have a good defense in a couple years but they signed a bunch of 40-50 point borderline top 6 forwards this offseason for what seems like only to break the cap minimum. Florida has been bad and I think will be a worse version of the Predators by the time Markstrom is ready to shine.

Thanks for the help gentlemen... It looks like I might have to find a way to keep both.
