    Default Halak or Howard

I'm looking to move one or the other for solid young buck forward or prospect or combination of assets.

Which one should I hold on to?
My goal is to be competitive in 2-3 years and I would like to really bolster my forwards.

Which one will give me better numbers in 3 years. (S%, GAA, W)

I would probably hang onto Halak of the two, seems like his peripherals are not as dependent on his team as Howards are

I would MUCH rather have Halak...as Laendarian said, not as dependent on his team, and St.Louis is a team that will be very good in 2-3 years.

Edit: Lol, I'm actually not one of the people that pisses on Howard from great lengths, I just really like Halak and St.Louis that much.

Well I would question the wisdom of moving either one of them, but primarily around these forums, Howard gets pissed on from great heights, so I would hang onto him in hopes of having the opportunity to rub some noses in it.

So why are you moving a relatively young goalie moving into his prime years for a forward?

I think that they will both be pretty close.
Detroit is always good and Howard is going to carry the load for them and will have good nmbers by default.
St. Loius is an up and coming team and in 2-3 years they will be really good and they will looking for Halak to shoulder the load.

I would give the slight edge to Halak.

these guys are likely to be practically identical in 2-3 years so why not move the one who gets you the best forward coming back to you

70% of your points come from offense so imo even if you give up the wrong goalie it may be irrelevant given the difference in forwards you may be looking at

So why are you moving a relatively young goalie moving into his prime years for a forward?
I finished second last in my league this year and my focus is to build a strong set of forward keepers, then, when I feel I have a strong enough team to "go for it all" i trade away a few picks and prospects for a solid starting goalie that can help me win.

I understand they're both young and promising but I see them as assets that can help me build my keeper forwards (70% of our stats are from offense).

Yeah and what percentage of your starting roster positions account for the 30% goalie stats?

This doesn't seem very logical to me - you are talking about trading away a guy who has more wins in the last two years than all except 3 goalies for a developing forward. So that you can win in two years. How about when you get close you trade away some picks and prospects for a forward and go for the win? It's a damn sight harder to find goalies than forwards.

regardless, thanks for all the good insight.
I think I'll shop howard hard once the season starts and get the best return I can.
