Howard vs Niemi
Hi everyone,
I currently own Jimmy Howard in my keeper pool. We count wins only for goalies. One of the poolies is interested in him, and offered me Niemi. I'm pretty sure I could get another player or a pick along with that (Evander Kane and Peter Muller were mentioned).
Last season, I felt Detroit lost confidence in Howard when they attempted to sign Nabokov, and I'm afraid he could be on a short leash this year.
So my question is: Would you guys trade Howard for Niemi?

If you can get Niemi and Kane for Howard you need to go to jail for grand larceny theft.
Shit dude! I wouldn't be surprised if Niemi has more wins than Howard this year. They are pretty comparable goalies for the future with your league set up. Detroit will decline a bit while San Jose should be strong for a while.
Get Kane or Mueller, but Kane preferably. Get it done now!
Yeah seriously if you can get Niemi and E.Kane by giving up Howard that is an absolute steal. Get that done if you can.
Niemi should be the undisputed #1 for the remainder of his contract. They're giving him #1 money so he should be getting the large sum of starts. SJS have made some great acquisitions and they're a really strong team now. I would probably make the swap even if E.Kane/Mueller wasn't included quite honestly, but I would act as though I'm giving up the more valuable asset.
Goalies: If I'm pickin em you best be sittin em!

I don't think their will be much of a difference between Howard and Niemi. Detroit is pretty loyal to their goalies and I think they will bounce back with a good year. Not completely sold on Niemi.
