    Default Visentin or Hackett

Who is the better prospect? I have no problem waiting 2 to 3 years for potential to be reached or chance for starter's job. I think both are the goalies of the future for their respective teams so out of the two, who would you rather have on your farm?

Thanks for any and all replies.

IMO I'd take Hackett. I think he will have competion with kuemper but I could see Hackett starting in 2 years or at least be a 1b

Hackett for sure. More potential and closer to the show.

Thanks guys, I was actually leaning towards Visentin when I posted this but now I think I might be swaying over to the Hackett side.

Don't know much about either goaltender but what kind of competition will Kuemper give Hackett? Could he possibly overtake Hackett in Minny's depth chart?

Well, he was the WHL goalie of the year this past season and Hackett isn't exactly Bernier, so it could very well happen. Stranger things have happened...

True, I guess like Shake said in another post "It's a shot in the dark"

    Default Visentin no doubt

I'd definitely go with Vis over Hackett. I live in Niagara, and this kid has been dynamite the last few yrs for the Dogs. In Phoenix, their goaltending depth is pretty shallow. You figure he's 4th in line, but the guys ahead of him aren't much: Mike Smith, who's been awful the last few yrs, although I see him bouncing back to something similar to his Dallas days, LaBarbara - career 2nd/3rd stringer, and McElhinney, who well, can save a few pucks here and there. That's it. I can honestly see Vis getting in a couple games this yr with injuries, and next yr, he'll be up with the club full time. He's got the World Junior experience, taking over the starting gig after cracking the team, and he'll help your team. I know I'm keeping an eye on the Yotes for signs of cracks and weaknesses, and will be jumping on the wire at the first signs. Unfortunately, a few guys in my pool are from the same area, so they know how good he is.

    Solid post!

I still believe that Hackett is the choice here but it might be closer than I originally thought and I too will be paying close attention to Vis this coming year.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Thanks for the post, this is going to make my choice that much harder. Thanks all for the help.
