I too would like to know whether I should put him or Khabibulin on waivers (I have Dubnyk). Hopefully we can get some discussion going in a hurry on Mr. Emery.
Any insight?
Has anyone heard any rumours of Emery signing anywhere? At the end of the season, it appeared Emery had played himself into at least a one-year gig somewhere. I haven't heard anything, and the teams looking for goalies are looking pretty scarse. ANA looks set, as does Colorado, Ottawa, Washington, etc. Does anyone see a fit here, or will he be a gun-for-hire during the middle of the season once someone (cough, Varlomov, cough) gets hurt? I'd love to hear the Goalie Guild perspective.

He's running pretty low on options, that's for sure.
And it's not like there's not other guys out there looking for jobs too.
Now that Osgood has retired maybe Det. would be wise to offer him a low-ball contract.

As a Detroit fan I'd love him there. The guy takes advantage of his opportunities. From what I've read it's supposed to be Conklin but gotta love some Emery.

At this point, I imagine he is pretty well resigned to the fact that he will be signed by a team in need after the season has started.
His agent, J.P. Barry, stated as much in the following article.

As for Emery vs. Khabibulin, go with the guy who has a job!
So ESPN is reporting he'll attend Chicago Blackhawks' training camp on a try-out. I guess if he makes it, that reduces Salak's value for this year big-time.
