Last year on a one year contract, he put up pretty respectable numbers.
Anyone hear about his status for next year? I thnk he's worth a late round draft pick.

or as a sure fire backup to one of several locations?
Depending upon how deep your draft is and how many goaltenders are in your league, I see this as a reasonable risk. (I'm thinking a pool in which some 80 or more players get drafted annually and that uses more than 20 NHL tenders on a weekly/daily basis.)
Cap wise, he should be a reasonable contract.
