    Kane looked good, fast, smart.

He scored in his second game since returning which was against the Caps last night.

Speaking of, the Jets are now on a two game winning streak after an impressive come-from-behind win with just under three minutes to go in the third.

Evander Kane scored and 12 seconds later Dustin Byfuglien tied the game at two.

The Jets managed to take it to a shootout where they were perfect. The two points were huge for the Jets as they are gaining ground in the ever so tight Southeast division.

Nevertheless, the Jets will have to continue to rack up wins including tomorrow's huge road game in Pittsburgh.

Noel is keeping them in the hunt. Low scoring games is the only thing keeping the Jets alive. We might win the bloody South-East division, yet.

I can't believe how bad that division is!

Well the Jets need to take advantage of these home games.

That game in Pittsburgh was an absolute disaster. Noel should be fined for leaving Pavelec out to rot like he did.

Nine out of the next 10 games are on home ice and it begins tonights against the Islanders. I would love to see at least 7 wins out of the 9 home games, but it is probably unlikely.

Lets be clear, if they don't win AT LEAST 7 of the 9 home games, which is excellent by the way considering how late it is, then they are most likely done for the season.

The division is still up in the air, but so is the 8th seed which the Jets only trail Toronto by 4 points.

Any playoff spot would be a miracle so I'm not going to be greedy about it, but the Southeast division is so much of a joke that the Jets only trail the Panthers by 7 points.

I'll stick to what I've been saying. Regardless of a playoff berth or not, a winning season would be considered a great season for this franchise with where they currently stand as a franchise.

Who realistically expected a winning season?

Wow, what a phenominal game tonight.

Jets finally won back-to-back games. Before tonight they were 0-9 on the second part of back-to-back.

Wheeler was straight up dominant. Three-point night gives him 42 for the season. He was a beast in every aspect, meaning, and sense of it. I watch Wheeler and I see that he has the skill set to just breakout for 75 points next season.

Little benefitted twice from Wheeler passes. Little now has 16 on the season.

Jets are in playoff contention, again. Two points out of 8th place and a heafty homestand which started tonight.

Tonight's win came from the first of an eight-game homestand.

    Great win tonight.

    Blake Wheeler = absolute beast.

Four-point night, all asists, giving him seven points in last 2 games.

Little also had his second straight two-goal game.

Wellwood, Ladd, and Kane scored for the Jets also.

A lot of multi-point players in this one including Byfuglien who had two assists.

What matters most for the Jets is the scoreboard. They're scoring goals, playing with passion, and winning games.

Only 1-point back of Florida, and tied for the 8th spot in the East.

At the game tonight, and it was a doozy! Tons of compete, but...

Not enough shots on goal, and certainly not enough blocked shots. How does Pavelec have to face over 50 shots?

Anyway, at least we got a point. More than I was expecting against the Flyers.

...and I can't remember the last time the losing goalie was the first star. Pavelec was lights out!

Pavelec was brilliant. What bothered me was the tons of missed calls.

Kane getting slashed, stick breaks in half, no call. Stuart getting a stick to the face, helmet even falls off, no call. Little getting slew footed at center ice, no call. Kane got slashed about 3 other times, no calls.

The Jets played the Flyers soft for the first time in a long time.

They gave them too much room and all day to do what they wanted.

It sucks they couldn't hold the lead for nine more seconds (although I will make an argument that Little was interferred with and it wasn't called like the 25 other missed calls). We lost though, no excuses. It's games like those that will come back to haunt us however.

    That extra point was needed.

    Division leaders!

The Jets rolled with 7 defensemen in last night's win and could continue to do so even when Bogosian returns.

Antti Miettinen was placed on waivers today.

Jets had no business losing this game today. It was another monster performance by Wheeler and the offense, but the Jets were turned away from Halak- who saved the game and about 10 goals.

I'm curious, how does St. Louis have the record that they have? They looked like bottom dwellers in this one. Simply put, they shouldn't have even been on the same ice surface as the Jets let alone steal the victory.

At the very least, it's good to see they got a point, but it sickens me to not have the second. The game should have been over mid-way through the second.

The Jets have to bust their backs to score goals on Halak, while on the otherhand, the Blues are lobbing pucks on Mason and they go in.

Which has me wondering, why wasn't Pavelec starting? He would have made the saves on both Blues' goals and the Jets would have cruised to victory.

Wheeler had two goals, hit a post, and got stoned 15 or 30 times (realistically, probably about 5 or 6 times).

There's nothing to be ashamed of in this loss because in a 7 game series, the Blues would be going home in 5.

Lucky teams don't prevail in the playoffs.
