Cmon! Bryzgalov will fall just like every other philly experiment has. That contract is brutal!
Price
Lundqvist
Miller
Dobber made a comment in the Philly/CBJ/LA trade analysis that he feels that Bryzgalov is one of the top fantasy goalies now that he is in Philly, if not THE top goalie.
What are your thoughts on the top 3 goalies for next year? My list:
Tim Thomas
Ilya Bryzgalov
Henrik Lundqvist
Am I overlooking someone who you think is going to have a big season?

IMO, Bryzgalov should now be considered part of an ELITE SIX.
Lundqvist
Miller
Luongo
Rinne
Price
Bryzgalov
These six guys will provide SV%, GAA, W, SO. All four categories.
Tim Thomas... love him... but eventually Boston will want to make way for Rask.
I think Boston will give Rask at least 30 of 82 starts next year. (50 for Thomas)
For this reason, I can't consider Thomas in the ELITE SIX of goalies.
Thomas shouldn´t be on that list. Yes he had a terrific run in the play-offs, but that doesn´t make him a top 3 goalie, especially not with Rask taking starts away from him. I´d replace him with Price and Lundqvist with Luongo. Vancouver will have another great regular season and therefore Luongo will have better stats than King Henrik.
I think you still have to have Luongo in there.
He might not have the mental edge in the playoffs, but he still should put up great numbers on a relatively unchanged Canuck lineup next season.
30 team, 23 man roster-3c,3rw,3lw,3Util,6D,2G, 3 reserve spots. Pts only, goalies: 2pts W, 3 pts SO, Current NHL cap.
Limited Keeper: (7) forwards, (3) defensemen, (2) utility skater (either a F or D) and (1) goaltender.
C-Crosby(8.7), Stamkos(7.5),Koivu, Kadri
LW-Krieder, O'Reilly, Vanek, Morin
RW-Ovechkin, Brown,JT, Dwyer, McGinn
D- Olsen,Folin, Lindholm, Prosser, Sustr, Marincin
G- Reimer, Fasth
Thomas, Luongo and then one of Rinne/Lundqvist.
I'd say I think Lundqvist is #1 and Luongo #2 then Price and Miller and it's more of a general "top tier" in my eyes than an outright one guy being unequivocaly better than the other (as in like Ovechkin vs. Malkin for instance), but Bryzgalov has a shit attitude so he's eitehr gonna be stellar or bust in PHI, but I actually think Quick, if he locks down the LA job again next season, post-trade is gonna be very valuable now for the short-term as LA wants to clearly run at a cup next season and Quick is seasoned where Bernier is not, so I think Quick is gonna be super valuable next season now like Price was this year so I wouldn't move him for Bryz post-Richards deal personally given wht this says about LA's intention for next season as I feel this secures Quick as a starter more so than pre-trade
Edit: Rinne and Hiller are fringe for that top tier as well as they can go either way
but yea top Tier is Lundqvist, Luongo, Price, Miller
and then fringe guys for next year are Bryz, Quick, Rinne, and Hiller as they can go either way
oh yea and Thomas short-term I guess too, but I see him being phased out post-cup win in favor of playing Rask more to secue their future in net

I find it hard to not put a guy who's won 2 Vezinas in 2 years (not counting his injured season) in the top 3 goalies. He also set the record for regular season save percentage. Is there any reason to not expect him to have another good year next year?
As for Luongo, I think we'll have to wait and see until next season to see how he rebounds from this huge disappointment. He has the potential, certainly.

Does Quick fall into the top 5 now?

I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.
Guys, Boston always takes time developing talent/players. Rask will get no more than 20-25 starts next year, and either way, how can ANYONE not have Thomas in their top 3? He's easily #1, hands down. The guy just came off the BEST SEASON FOR A GOALIE IN NHL HISTORY. I don't care how touted Rask is as a prospect, Thomas is the starter in Boston and will once again lead the league in GAA and SV%, with 30+ wins and 5+ shutouts. Guaranteed. In a 1 year H2H league, I'm not taking any goalie ahead of Thomas.
